Recent international orders signature required?

It's not uncommon to sign for international orders. I have to sign for orders from Turkey but not for orders from China, go figure.

I suspect that you're normally going to have a letter stating that your order was seized if there is an issue. Otherwise, I don't think it's suspect unless you suddenly have to sign for an order from a source that you've never had to sign for before... I would be a bit more apprehensive in that situation.

Thanks for your response! Yeah I didn't know if it depended on what country it was coming from or where you lived if you had to sign for it. If I did I was hoping it would say in the informed delivery or tracking so I could sign or have them leave it without being there, since I will most likely be at work and don't want to have to go to the post office.

I think it actually has more to do with your local post office, IIRC. I actually feel a little more comfortable getting it at the PO.

Ok thanks! I'll just wait and see. Hopefully I will be able to tell beforehand. The reason I would rather not go to the post office is that it is pretty far and takes a long time with traffic.

I can actually almost see the post office down the road from my house. Which made it all the more frustrating when I had delivery problems after I first moved in.

I ordered protein powder and the mailman claimed I didn't have a mailbox. It had been a while since I had ordered my package and the tracking said delivered so I stopped there on my way home from work - the postmaster lady proceeded to argue with me that I didn't have a mailbox. She had even gone so far as to open my package to see if the packing slip had a phone number she could call. Keep in mind, this fucking jug of protein would never have fit in my mailbox anyways, you know.. the mailbox we could have walked outside and I could have pointed to - leave it on my porch like any other fucking thing I've ever ordered online in my life. To this day - strangest argument I think I've ever had.

Needless to say, I was apprehensive about ordering AAS for quite some time after that. I lost one domestic order that I swear is probably sitting on a shelf somewhere in that building for the last few years - source said it was the only reship he had ever had to do.

Damn that sucks. I hate it when people do stupid shit for no fucking reason and then want to argue about it. I guess you're lucky it was protein instead of AAS lol although I'm pretty sure it's illegal for her to open your mail so I don't think she could have done anything even if it was.

Once it makes it to the US from EU, it’s received, scanned and processed in NY. Then it moved to your major city hub, then region, then local hub.

I believe once it passes through NY and your major city, you’re mostly in the clear. The local PO just drops it as the final destination.

Of course, YMMV.

Thanks. Was mainly just trying to find a way that I wouldn't have to go to the post office if I wasn't there to sign for it. It's pretty far especially with traffic. Hoping I can sign if they leave a slip or sign in advance using tracking or informed delivery.

the only correct answer to your question is this @amtont

Signature depends on what shipping carrier the source uses. If they use EMS you always have to sign, same with DHL express. Just always check with the source and ask them what they offer and if it will require a signature or not.

Ok thanks for taking the time to help me out! Yeah I did this and they said it depends sometimes people do and sometimes they don't. I guess I will just wait and see. I was mainly just looking for the best way to have them leave it if I was at work so I wouldn't have to go to the post office and pick it up because it takes a long time.
