Has anyone else noticed a few ads calling for class action against testosterone supplements. The claim is TRT is shown to increase chance of stroke, heart attack, and according to the spokesperson...DEATH!

I believe these is a result of a study done on men in their 60's but of course they dont mention a demographic or study group.

Everytime I see these commercials I wanna shoot my face off! This could be a public opinion kick in the balls....

Thoughts?:banghead:

I just watched one on TV from a local law firm. I was like are you F ing kidding me. You gotta love the media and lawyers trying to make money off anything they can.

It's enough to make you want to call Perry Mason and cross examine them till they break down in a tearful confession of their ignorance and lack of anything good or truthful!

Sorry...been watching a Perry Mason marathon on tv today...however, all jokes aside...these lawyers are f**k sticks!

It's one thing to go against Birth Control Pills,Risperdal,Anti-Depressants and other truly dangerous substances, but dammit not Testosterone products. Most likely any contribution from these gels / replacement therapies, that may have been negative, is from estrogen imbalances, people who take anything should be educated more thoroughly and bloodwork should be more consistent. Unfortunately, most docs will prescribe something and try to shove ya off...if you have "side-effects" they are pretty much dumbfounded!

Anti depressants? What the fuck do you think is best for manic depression? Fucking witch hazel or something? AND BIRTH CONTROL PILLS? sometimes you really irritate me with your anti establishment hippie bullshit. Go hug a fucking tree.

I think there are a lot of things better than anti-depressants...and I am much more than Anti-Establishment. I am a Master of Herbology, Pharmacology and have knowledge in many other subjects.

If you truly look into the studies that show increased stroke and heart attacks with testosterone use, the results are skewed big time. Do a google search and read about it, it's rediculous. I don't want to get into it because there is too much to type, but one study measured the national heart attack rate to rates on heart attacks in pts on testosterone who have already had a heart attack in the past. The study literally only tracks men who have ALREADY HAD a heart attack (on testosterone) and compared repeat heart attack rates in these men to men who were not on testosterone. Poor study. There was no mention of pt weight, obesity measurement, cholesterol levels, activity level......nothing!

I really do think that doctors need to do a better job picking who they prescribe this drug to. If you're a fat bastard with high cholesterol and high blood pressure, you shouldn't get testosterone treatment. It's not a magical wonder drug that the commercials make it out to be and it will only compound other problems if you've never cared about your health in the past.

Sorry bro I can't go with ya on your anti depressant theory. I am an anti depressant user as well as anti anxiety meds.

I couldn't function without them. And I've tried St. Johns Wort and several other herbal supplements but only zoloft and klonapin keep me from hiding in my bed all day.

Just my opinion.

Actually Mimmick , its the very "fat bastards" you describe that need TRT the most . I tryed everything to get my high cholesterol and triglycerides inline 4 years ago when I got referred to a TRT doctor . Within 6 months my entire profile had changed from very bad to very normal . The only thing I changed was adding testosterone . My TRT doc said low T combined with high Estridiol was the reason for my poor health . I was also able to get my weight under control with hormone therapy . :D

You are absolutely right and I wasn't referring to people like you. I really have to be careful with my choice of words because everyone is so quick to bash whatever anyone else says if you don't spell it out to a T. I'm in the medical field and I can tell you that people all see the commercials and think testosterone is the wonder drug. They think they can hop on it, eat their pasta and drink and lose weight. You fall into another category of people who tried to take care of yourself and testosterone was the key to your success. Testosterone can either hurt or help you depending on how you live your life and how you take care of yourself.

Well most of the herbal extracts are gonna be commercial and low-grade, especially buying from a cheap-ass brand like Vitacost. You want the standardized shit, Zoloft and Klonopine are strong because they are an isolated and / or modified compound. They will always be stronger mg for mg, but herbal remedies are safer for depression, and if you get the rare chance of getting the right standardization.....

Then you will have yourself a possible victory, however I can't speak for YOU in particular, as you have your own genetic code. This is however, the case for many people. Honestly I have no need for anti-depressants. I've never been depressed, however I have along time ago used an herb or two for situational anxiety. I've also used Klon's and Xan's before, except for recreational use.

Wasn't such a good idea.

A while back they where advertising these commercials and they wanted people who used denture sealant,so nothing surprises me when it comes to ambulance chasers.[:o)]

I noticed the first commercial about 2 months ago. I have seen one now from about 3 separate law firms. One of them being Cellino and Barnes. Every time I see those leaches on TV I want to choke them out[:o)]. I'm curious to know what condition and what lifestyle the men that died were in. I doubt they were vegan swimsuit models.

Trt will cause stroke and heart issues when you got doctors that don't know exactly how to replace testosterone . I'm talking about half the doctors . You got these doctors giving old people 200mg of testosterone and not even giving them an AI or monitoring there RBC or hematocrit levels . I'm sure your chances of stroke or heart will increase

think about it. some form of steroids is almost always perscribed for any major illness. so if a shit load of ppl are on hrt/ trt they will be in better health. for example I never get a cold flu etc when I am on. when off I will go to the doc 3 to4 times a year for respatory infection. never whileon. So why not get attorneys to help put a stop to trt.
As said above trt doc that have no clue are helping fuck it up. Really aas increase red blood cells, which in turns makes it thicker which increases the risk for stroke. you have to donate.
I have heard now certain docs are going to hcg only for trt.
WTF I am tired of all this shit. shit should not be aganist the law, if I want to put the shit in me I should have that right. Fing typing on a tablet sucks ass.

Comes down to risk vs benefit. If the public had a more accurate understanding of what AAS are, I don't think we would have to risk our freedom to use them.
I can say first hand after going off trt for almost 6 months that it f***** with my health and sense of well being.

Hey Mr.oregongearhead I hear yeah brother, when I was younger (before juice)I only would lift heavy and as a result I weighed 295 lb at about 6foot3 with probably about 20% body fat.You can only imagine how much of a problem that weight was any ways I hopped on test and keeping my diet in check (more then I ever have) and now iam back down to 265 which is great. So any ways I agree with you about how fat bastards need it.
