What do brand/company do you recommend for ordering meats online. I want grass-fed and high quality.

Idk if Butcher Box is anymore.

If you have any other brands, I'm willing to listen.

Thanks

What do you mean? Did something happen with butcher box?
I heard things haven't been as good or something. Could be bs. I never ordered from them, but was going to until I saw someone writing how the meats aren't as quality as they were.

If it’s one review I would take it with a grain of salt. Plus, those types of things are so highly subjective, you may love it even though someone else hates it

I would call some of the better steak houses in the area, see if any will give you their source. Thats what I did, and found a meat wholesaler who has the best meat I've ever had on a consistent basis.
Yeah unfortunately he is out of my sources range to deliver but it's amazing grass-fed everything pasture raised

I was asking because I use butcher box and have for like 2 years now. Their meat is top notch and I haven't noticed any dip in quality at all. Their customer service is EXCELLENT. I would definitely recommend them 100%. I love having a freezer full of various meats and cuts and being able to choose what I want to eat/ make today.

So idk what that other person was taking about, but absolutely no do in quality here!

Edit: also could look at farm to table restaurants to see if they'd be willing to provide their source, although with the silly chain issues nowadays I would be skeptical. I love butcher box, personally. Just be and my girl go through a big box each month c since we're both big eaters and lifters.

Yes. totally agree with you. Where to start with quality meat suppliers. In local restaurants, I think the quality of the meat is all right and it is at the highest level. Although I may be wrong

But I don't see why a local restaurant would just give you their source, which would cut them out of the equation lol

As suggested above I would try and source your meat locally I can't see online butchers being cheaper as obviously they have to pay high delivery fees due to having to use cooler boxes etc. Plus your supporting the local community which isn't a bad thing.

Yes, the local farmers and/or butchers are the way to go. Supporting local crucial business, minimum processing...and if you get in with a great local setup, you'll be lucky and learn a ton about personal processing that sweet pure meat in your own kitchen, even just smaller cuts, like trimming brisket.

Wildforkfoods.com & piedmontese.com

Piedmontese is an Italian breed of cattle. Naturally lower in fat and higher in protein. The flat irons and skirt steaks are awesome, and they seem to keep better than regular steak.... reheated steak isn't great, imo.. but PD seems to be great over several days.

Wildfork has everything else, and at a great price. $50 for a year of free shipping. Most everything I've priced out is either cheaper or competitive to anywhere else. Tons of options for stuff you don't always see in stores, if ever... they sell ostrich and alligator. The hangar steaks are killer from there. Sushi grade salmon and tuna. Full usda prime briskets. Berkshire ribs and hams. You name it.

If you are motivated enough you can find anything.

I was lucky enough that a local chef told me where they bought their steaks at. The place that I deal with sells steak to five star restaurants, and the steak is cheaper to buy then it is from Walmart or Costco.

I spent probably a year researching steak and cooking techniques. I purchased the same oven that Chris’s steakhouse uses to sear their steaks on
