Rib Cage Expansion

I have some questions on some rib cage expansion exercises. I won the 1988 Mr Tennessee, however, have never really stretched my rib cage box like I should have when I was younger. I'm 52 now; can I still stretch my rib cage? I'm still getting some amazing pec growth and need to get a bigger rib cage to match.

What type of exercises would you recommend?

Thanks!

Mike

Masturbation. Its about as effective as any of the so-called rib cage expander movements. There MAY be a possibility that someone under 18 years old could expand their ribcage, but after that its even less likely.

Yeah an old time bodybuilder who was helping train me when I was 17 had me doing tons of pullovers taking very deep breaths to try to expand my rib cage. I think it actually worked.

Yeah that was the old Arthur Jones technique. It was later regurgitated by Ellington Darden who I believe still espouses the technique in some of his HIT books.

Damn, Joffa. You really scared me there for a minute. I thought you were gonna use that Bob Smith masturbation reference as a segway into some kind of dirty, Michael & Macauly-esque weight training experience you had back in the day...

Hahaha, Beefy, too funny. I used to train at this gym in Totowa underneath the holiday inn parking lot. It was a total dump, but it was only $99 for 6 months. Everything was rusty and/or broken, and whenever it rained they had to get the buckets out, cause the roof leaked all over the place. Ahhh, sweet memories. I had some of the best workouts there. Anyway, sorry for the side rant, but yeah this guy was an old time bodybuilder from the golden days of muscle beach, I think his name was Bobby Marshall. Anyone ever heard of this guy? He agreed to train me for free. I used to show up early in the mornings before the gym was officially opened, and he would train me. He always had me warm up with pullovers, said I was young and it would expand my rib cage. I think he was right.

That's cool, bro. I can really appreciate the simplicity of training from back in the 70's. Alot of their key fundamentals are still applicable today, but now we have a much more advanced scientific approach to training. I have to admit, most modern training methods are over my head and I want to learn more. The basics have gotten me pretty good results thus far, though.
