Robo calls

That was basically the WWF formula right up through the early mid-nineties. Half their TV was squash after squash. They didn't really change things up until Nitro debuted with packed cards week in and out.
Remember the old NWA jobbers? They were just as bad with the Mulkey’s and that scrawny black dude - Rocky King or something like that. And then in the late 80’s/early 90’d the Freebirds picked him up and tried using him as a mascot or something like that.

I have the enhanced caller ID through Verizon. If it's not a number from my contact list or at least a name I recognize I don't answer it. A lot of the time it says "robo caller" on the caller ID or something similar anyway.

AT&T added that recently and it’ll come up as Scammer Alert or Telemarketing Alert or Fraud Risk. Still doesn’t help the poor OP who has to see his phone blown up with call after call. They are some real bastards.

Yeah, I know. It pisses me off just having my phone ring by them and I only get a handful a week. I know there's ways to block all numbers that aren't contacts on some phones. If it's a work or business phone that's probably not an option though. Something to look into if not. Or number change.

I remember reading somewhere recently that over 50% of phone calls are scam calls these days. No idea if really true, but wouldn't doubt it a bit.

Only from the few tapes my Gramps was able to source, FCW/CWF footage was bit obscure up here in AWA country.
Yeah it is in Tampa, that is where Gordon Solie was.
Wrasslin was real big in Tampa back then.
I grew up in the same town as the armory.

Still is, half Vince's roster probably still home bases down there.

There was another small town down that way too, population was like 80% people in the business. Shit's crazy, like the town all the big side show acts home based in way back when.

Crazy how regional stuff was actually harder to come by tape trading than old All Japan / New Japan / FMW.

But getting hold of old Mid-Atlantic, WCCW, and USWA type stuff was like hitting the jackpot. Lost my mind the few times I managed to get hold of tapes from Puerto Rico.

Insane how many of those old tape libraries have been lost or just recorded over.

That would be a great feature to have - instant blocking. Think I’ll have to look that. And yeah, I can easily believe those stats on these damn calls.
