Rosacea Treatment

Our of the blue I was diagnosed with Rosacea. Mainly the upper cheeks and nose area have inflammation (redness). It's not severe but enough to bother me after an entire life with no issues.

I'm going to change diet and attempt lifestyle changes prior to any medication.

Any recommendations? And if I go down the medication route my doctor says Metrogel I think it was called. Thanks in advance!!

Seborrheic dermatitis is sometimes misdiagnosed as rosacea (not saying yours is, but might be worth ruling out.). I have seborrheic dermatitis and have found that rubbing a dandruff shampoo into the areas and letting it sit for a bit each night in the shower mostly keeps it at bay. I use pyrinthione zinc shampoo (head and shoulders). Ketoconazole cream also helps. Metrogel did nothing for me, and at the time was pricey.

Thank you so much for the advice! Seriously I'm on my last home remedy. Bought Organic Grass Fed "Beef Tallow" Balm home-made which has shown tremendous skin benefits; however, there is no guarantee it will help with the inflammation/redness.

Sooooooo I'm going to see the doctor next week, actually writing down what you said and see what he thinks. I'm just over this. Like in one year my skin was fine to red, all over the place. Haha

Probably too much - and I was told this may be a huge reason why over the past year this has occurred. I went from borderline vegetarian to keto. I think this might be the main reason but I am not sure.
I would stop all dairies for at least 3 weeks and reassess the situation

hello! look, I am going to tell you about my brother's experience.
He is an internist and worked up to 18 hours a day in intensive care and most of the time he did not see the sunlight, he developed rosacea, he did everything that his dermatologist colleague recommended (antibiotics, creams etc) this only worsened his rosacea so he decided to research in the medical literature and found that in ancient times skin diseases were cured by putting the patients in the sun, so she immediately checked her vitamin D3 blood levels and found that they were extremely low so she decided to do the opposite of what her dermatologist friend had suggested, she cancelled the antibiotics and facial creams and started to sunbathe directly on her face for 20 minutes every day (midday sun) and cancelled the consumption of wheat (gluten) and milk, her rosacea started to heal until it disappeared and today she has a perfect skin.

Honestly, this was a recommendation from someone too. Get more sunlight, perhaps go tanning 2x a week. Right now I'm getting pretty much zero due to the way our season is. Not mention my job.

All of the advice on here is great and I'm going to incorporate a little bit of everything from everyone. Just want it to improve even by 25-50% (I'd be happy).
