Rubber getting into my vials. Anyone else encounter this?

My vials are getting little pieces of rubber in them from the stopper. I had this happen before but I always switch to a lower gauge needle to inject so I would think the pieces won't make it through. I am not sure what would happen if a little piece of the rubber gets into my body. Has anyone encountered this and have any experience on this matter?
( I only want to hear about real experience. Not the bullshit most of you vomit from what you read somewhere.)
I am using 18 gauge needles to draw and 22g x 1.5" BD Easy glides to inject. I just ordered 25g x 1.5" to inject and I am going to try and switch to the 22g needles to draw. Hopefully, this will possibly cut down on the rubber or stop it completely.
Thanks in advance for your input!

This is fairly common and not too much of a concern if you’re careful. As said above, that’s a massive draw pin. Get 20g+ and insert with the point up and at an angle to the stopper. Check your barrel for rubber before pinning.

On the question of infecting the rubber from said stopper. Realistically is that a problem or is it so small that the body can quickly break it down?

My gut wants to say that it gets stuck for a bit and the body won’t know what to do and become infected if it’s big enough like if they left a needle in a patient.

If you were to pin it, assuming it’s been sterilized by the additives to the gear, I’m assuming the body would make an abscess. If it wasn’t sterile, same, except more serious. But that’s just my assumption.

I had this happen one time with 20g needle. The piece was in my vial and i am pretty sure i injected it in me at some point because it was gone when finished the vial... noting happened

When you switch from 18 g to 22-25 g to pin no way the rubber would fit through the smaller gauge needle. Would clog.

I wouldn't be amazed if a piece could make it through a 22g needle. I just wonder what happens when that enters your body? Is it going to be broken down? Are the rubber stoppers soluble in your body? I would imagine the stoppers are made to handle this possibility? I can imagine it has happened at some point in time. Either way, I am very cautious about disinfecting the stopper and injection site with an alcohol swab.

Go around them and try not to draw them into your syringe.
I do try to go around them but today I feel like I got a really small piece in there and I think I might have injected a fragment. I don't feel any different on the injection site and it has been about 14 hours. I did notice it bled a lot when I pulled the needle out and it felt a little more sore than usual for about an hour after injection. I always aspirate before injection so I doubt I hit a vein.

U'll most likely be alright. I think it's happend to me. Just keep an eye on it for any redness or swelling. Next time be more careful not to draw up the little pieces.

Well that’s a fucked up attitude considering you’re the one asking for help/advice.

Now that I feel better after pointing that out so you hopefully check that shit attitude, I’ll tell you what you can do.

1) use the smaller gauge like others suggested
2) get a syringe filter, you can order these off the amazon and a new sterilized sealed vial. Both are cheap.
3) draw the remaining oil out of the vial you fucked up, attach the filter and inject into the sterile vial.
4) label your vial and use a smaller gage needle from now on.

As everyone has already stated way to big a draw gauge.
And if your concerned about the rubber you can always re filter your gear to a sterile vial

If the pieces of rubber go in you and it doesn't get infected they probably just stay there. There are a lot of Vietnam vets out there that still have pieces of metal in them from war....if its in a risky spot they will leave it.
