Ruckin's cutting/recomp log

Pretty simple plan here, I'm just doing a 12 week cut & recomp. I'll switch from cutting to recomping once I feel like I'm lean enough, whenever that happens. Currently sitting at around 245 lbs fully dressed in the gym (don't have a scale at home) and I'd like to get down to 235ish.

I would never do anything illegal, but hypothetically, if gear was legal where I live... I'd be running 400 mg tren e/wk and 125 mg test cyp/wk for the duration. But of course this is hypothetical...

And I'll probably give my lab rats a little clen towards the end to finish their cut off strong.

Goals are to gain just a modest amount of strength, if any, and lose ~15 lbs of fat. I just want to get a little faster and more athletic for the fall.

Training will be a personalized version of Bill Starr's 5x5 training, but I'll be alternating between 5 and 10 reps every 3 weeks (singles and triples for power cleans).

As they say, "eat clen, tren hard"

Starting this next week.

Man I've barely eaten pizza this whole year. There's no good places around where I live now... It was depressing at first but I think I'm starting to come around and accept my sad new reality now.

@jaymaximus I'm trying to keep my expectations realistic, but with the hypothetical tren and the fact that I'll be reducing my conditioning frequency to just once per week should help me make some decent strength gainz.

Thanks for following along fellas

Where the fuck have you been Ruck?????
Just been crazy busy the last few months my friend. And if anything I'll only be getting more busy, but I love this place and I miss it so I started this log mostly to give me more incentive to come on here and talk to you guys. It's not like this 525 mg/wk blast is going to be exciting compared to what most of you guys are doing lol.

Just weighed in at 239 at my gym lol. Looks like this is going to be more of a recomp than a cut now. Not that I mind. I just want to stay above 234 so that my BMI is high enough to medically be considered obese for my height. Lol

I had a day I went into a docs office and he was on the computer looking at my numbers. He told me I was obese until he turned around and looked at me. What do doctors know anyway? Just a lot about medicine and human anatomy....psssh

Depends on how well it bounces back now that I'm not conditioning multiple times per week anymore. Just once per week on Saturdays and then I just jog or do other low intensity cardio on my other off days.

I'm probably not even at 500 right now, but last time my mice ran tren and I wasn't conditioning a lot, my squat blew up to the highest it has ever been, so I'm hoping for a similar effect. 550 is my goal for this blast, but I should be able to fit another one before the year ends, so 585-600 is definitely my goal for 2017

Weight was 235 post-breakfast in the gym today lol. Looks like it'll be all recomp and maybe even a slow bulk towards the end now. This is the absolute lightest I want to be. I'm shocked since I was over 245 a week ago, but I had eaten out a lot that past week, so I must have just been holding a ton of extra water.

Workout: "heavy" day
Squat 345x10
Push press 215x9
Deadlift 315x10
Paused cg incline 195x10

Lifts are all down from not being in the gym consistently the last 2 weeks, but I'll be back to normal and making gains in a couple weeks, as long as all goes okay. First workout of this blast and the most exciting part was deadlifting, despite the bany weight I used. As some of you may know, I've been struggling with a lower lat injury for damn near 2 years now, and I was able to deadlift pain free today, which was awesome.

Light day
Power clean 225x3
Squat 245x10
Push press 155x10
Chins BWx5

So I figure if I can add 5 pounds to my squat each week during this blast then I'll be at ~400x10 at the end. I'd be pretty happy with that, since that would be just around the strongest I've ever been, but weighing 20 pounds lighter than last time I was there. And while being way more fit too. I think that's a reasonable goal considering the moderate dose of vitamins I'm on. Thoughts anyone?

Sounds reasonable to me. 405x10 has a much better ring to it though, so I'd go for that. Actually 410x10 because I've been using a 50lb bar, but yeah, four plates or bust. Not three plates, plus 35's, plus 5's and 2 1/2's. Doesn't seem right.

True. 5 lb/wk for the next 11 weeks puts me at 400, but I'll just set up camp at the local golden corral for the last week or two for that extra 5 lbs. Thanks for talking some sense into me

Yesterday: medium day
Power clean 255x3
Squat 295x10
Push press 185x10
Dead hang Chins 239x7 rpe 8.5
Paused cg incline 175x10
Shrugs 425x15
Rear delts 20sx15

Then I did conditioning work today. I really hope the tren doesn't fuck with my endurance too much, but I don't know how much hope I should hold out for that lol

"heavy" (lol) day
Squat 355x10
Push press 215x10
Deadlift 335x10
Paused cg incline --- (bench was out of service)
Paused cgbp 225x11

Another decent workout in the books. My poverty deadlift feels great which is all I can ask for. Overall I'm still relatively weak, but it's coming back so I'm happy and trying to be patient lol.

light day
Power clean 230x3
Squat 245x10
Push press 155x10
Chins 245x5

I'm retaining a ton of water again, hence the extra 10 pounds of body weight.

So I think I'm going to try an eq only cruise after this blast. 250 or 300 mg/week. Would anyone be interested in following a log about that? I'm iffy since I'm sure it would be super boring, but it's different so maybe someone would find it interesting.
