Ruckin's first cycle log: test cyp only [IV gear]

I had a great workout today. I joined a new gym today and had my firt workout there. I love this new place. There are 4 power racks with olympic platforms, plus two more squat racks! They also have various types of barbells including a couple texas power bars, which I used to deadlift today and loved. Bumper plates too, it's by far the best gym I've ever been in. My only complaint is that the dumbbells only go up to 100s. So I'm gonna have to switch to barbell pendlay rows instead of dumbbell rows but it's not that big of a deal. Anyway here's what I did:

Power cleans: 185x1x4
Press (paused): 125x12x3
Front Squat: 205x12x3
Deadlifts: 395x1x12 in 8 min
Incline bench: 165x12,14
Chins: 256x4,4,4,4,5 (5 sets)
Weighted planks: -

So I went light on the cleans again today just for some extra recovery there and I'll start to do 8 singles as my power clean training starting monday. My presses felt awesome. I might have gotten 13 on the last set of them but I wasn't sure so I recorded 12 just to be sure. Lost count a little on that set. Front skwats were tough but not nearly as grueling as high rep back skwats. I was really happy with how the deadlifts went too. I set 8 minutes on the clock like I've been doing with a goal of 10 singles and exceeded that. I definitey could have done a little more weight too. 405 for 10+ singles next time for sure. I ran out of time before my gym closed so no planks today =/

This monday will be 5 weeks since my cycle started so I have to start figuring out when and where I'm gonna get bloods. I live in a no bloods state so it's going to be a pain in the butt.

On a completely unrelated note, there's a fucking fly in my room and I can't hit it, and I'm getting really pissed off. I've been trying to kill it the entire time I've been typing this so I feel it should be included.

this video is close to what I'm saying

Ah ok I see. I'll try that spot on Monday. Do you yourself pin in that spot without getting the terrible quad pip that everyone complains about?

Just finished my first quad pin less than 5 minutes ago. Oooooh boy. I can already feel it...

I'm leaving for the gym now though. I'm praying some squats will ease the pain just a tad. I'm mentally preparing myself for not being able to walk tomorrow though... Ugh

I can hear all you older vets reading this laughing at me already lol

Fuck me

Man for me I've pinned quads 3x. The first day and first half of the second day was manageable for me. But the second night and 3rd day were rough lol. Working legs day of the pin definitely helps

So I ended up having a great workout tonight. Doing my squats right after pinning the quad seems to have helped a little so far, but it's probably still too early to tell.

So on Saturday I finally finished the first 5 week phase of my cycle where I was primarily doing 3 sets of 12 on all my main lifts. Today was the first day of my second 5 week phase, and for this one I'll be doing 4 sets of 8 on the big lifts. I'm so glad those first 5 weeks are over lol. Those 5 weeks were hard. I HATE high reps. But, they do have their place and I'm glad I stuck with the plan all the way through.

Tonight's WO:

power clean: 215x1x8
Bench: 240x8,8,8,10
Squat: 295x8,8,8,10
Barbell bent over rows: 185x8x4
Paused incline bench: 185x10x2
Chins: -
Power Shrugs: 395x12x3
Weighted planks: -

I was super happy and excited with everything I did tonight. I exceeded my goals on both the bench and squat, and the cleans felt great too. Going light on them the last couple workouts definitely helped me perform better tonight. The only bad thing was that I tore some skin open on my hand at the end of the shrugs. I didn't want to spread my blood everywhere lol, so I decided to call it a night and skip the set of chins, the planks, and the curls and side raises I was going to do. Not a big deal though, that was all just just accessory work that I had to miss and my primary work went so well, so that made it easier to accept that I would miss out on that accessory stuff.

I'm so pumped about my squat! I can't wait to get up to 315 for those working sets soon.

Dude I'd be lying if I said I'm not scared of the infamous quad pip hitting me in the next day or so. It's been 5 hours now and still very minor soreness, but I'm trying to prepare myself for the worst lol. My biggest fear is not being able to squat for the rest of the week. I've been thinking about making this Wednesday's workout a light recovery day, so if my pip is that bad, I'll most likely take it easy on Wednesday. I really hope I don't need to do that though.

Does your quad pip only last 3 days? If I'm fine by Thursday I'd be happy.

You'd be surprised at what you can do in the gym even with PIP.
Yeah I can imagine. Especially since you know in your head that's it's not an injury that you might make worse, it's just temporary soreness. Taking some aleve when I feel like it would be useful seems to be helping a lot too.

I've had absurd PIP in my thighs from what I assume was oil from the muscle leaking into sub-q / fat or just from shitty injection technique. I can safely say it did not negatively effect strength or performance at all.

For me on all 3 pins by the 4th day I was g2g. So it shouldn't cause you any issues unless you squat eod

Awesome, that's good to know.

Pop an Advil or something before the gym if it's really bad but like Weighted said, it can hurt like a bitch but soon as you're through with warmups it doesn't even come to your mind

Yeah that's what I've found to be the case a couple of the times I've had really bad glute pip so far. Getting through those warmup til the point when it stops hurting has been a challenge.

Ha I do squat eod though... Well 3x per week so almost eod. Hopefully what doc said about when he squatted eod ends up being the case for me too.

I've only pinned quads 3x so my knowledge isn't vast. Just passing along how it went for me.

I understand. My entire first and half of my second cycles were done during periods I was squatting every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. I never missed a squat session or workout due to pip but I've also only ran gear from 1 UGL before going the homebrew route so my UGL experiences are limited. I'm sure some labs have I same amounts of pip.

I woke up an hour ago and was plesantly surprised to find that my quad is still doing pretty good. It's a little more sore where I pinned than last night, but still not bad at all. I'm about to head off to work for the day and hopefully later I'll be able to make it to my gym to do some cardio. Maybe that will help keep some pip away.

So I ended up heading to my gym last night and doing a little unplanned conditioning. I was planning to just do some light cardio for active recovery, but when I got to the stationary bike I said fuck it and decided to get in a real workout. I did 20 minutes staying at or above 60 rpm on the bike's level 12 resistance setting. It was A LOT harder than it probably sounds lol. I was barely able to walk when I finished and got off.

I was also happy that my quad didn't bother me at all when I was doing the bike last night. In fact, I think doing that conditioning helped my quad pip. Speaking of my quad, I'm just a few minutes past the 36 hour mask now since I pinned it, and it doesn't seem any worse than yesterday.

So anyway I'm off to work soon and then I'll be hitting the weights tonight.

I just had such an amazing workout. Wow, I couldn't have asked for much more even if I wanted. Overall everything was very good, but my squats just felt fantastic, and I care about my squat more than any other lift so I just felt amazing tonight.

Power cleans: 185x1x4
Paused Press: 135x8,8,8,10
Squat: 305x8,8,8,9 :D:D:D
Rack pulls: 405x10x3
Paused Incline bench: 190x10x2
Chins: 256x4,4,4,4,5
Weighted planks: 75x30 sec x2
Curls: 35sx12x3 superset w/
Side raises: 40sx12x3

The best part is that I had such a great workout on only 5-6 hours of sleep (I almost always get 8+) and after being tired from work all day. It probably helped that my lunch was a a whole large pizza with pepperoni, chicken ad bacon from papa johns though

I'm so happy with my squat. I added 10 pounds instead of 5 to the weight I used 2 days ago and still exceeded my set/reps goal. It might have helped that I went light on the cleans tonight too, but hey I'll take it. Now to decide whether to go for 315 for my 4 sets of 8 on Friday or stick to 310...

Paused presses and incline bench and everything else went great too. I felt unstoppable in that gym tonight, it felt so cool. I didn't wanna leave. I actually thought about going back to do more squats for a second after I finished the workout lol. But I just told myself to stick to the plan.

OH and about my quad pip: it's not anywhere near what I was expecting. I just did a little extra warming up and boom it was fine. Didn't even notice anything after that. It was a little painful when I would have to squat down for stuff at work today, but my the time I was lifting tonight I didn't even notice.

These are the workouts you use to motivate yourself on the shitty days. Nice job and nice squatting.

My quad is fine as of today. No pip at all to speak of. I can't believe how well that ended up going. The worst it got was not bad at all, and it only lasted 2 days, so I'm pretty confident about pinning my quads going forward. Actually I have to go pin once I'm done typing this, I almost forgot

Headed to my gym to do some light cardio/active recovery after I finish pinning and help that oil absorb a little better.

Yeah definitely you're right, I'm still so happy about that workout last night :) Thanks doc

Another great workout tonight! For some reason I just wasn't in the zone and I just wasn't feeling it, but I still had a great performance despite not being in the right mood.

power clean: 220x1x8
Bench: 245x8,8,8,10
Squat: 310x8,8,8,10
Barbell rows: 195x8,8,8,10
Paused incline: 195x10x2
Power Shrugs: 405x12x3
Weighted planks: 80x30 sec x2
Curls: 40sx10x3 superset w/
Side raises: 40sx12x3

So the goal was 4 sets of 8 like usual and I ended up getting an extra 2 reps on all of those main lifts! I was NOT expecting that much strength today. On my bench I added 5 lbs from last time, AND got one more rep than last time, same for my squat!

I can't believe how much strength I've been gaining, especially this week. I guess this the beginning of the real show. Week 6 baby. I'm so excited for these next 10 weeks!

Oh and also, it's been over 24 hours now since I pinned my right quad and I have ZERO pip. I'm so releived about that.

Today was a good day.
