I agree and disagree. If mortar and pestle was useless big time pharma would not use them on their test batches.
Unless you have thousands of dollars for a granulator then MP is the best way to get consistency with mixing regardless the batch size.
But regardless granulation is always the best way to make consistent caps or tabs.
Your main objective is to get all powders including API the same weight/size so distribution is even.
You are right. Granulation is the best way to have a properly dispersed API.
But even with grinding his mix with a mortal and pestle, he has no way of properly mixing it after. Hence why a pharmaceutical mixer is essential. I don’t think OP understood this really when he made his OP, and he hasn’t said anything to make me think he gets it now.
I would say even before trying to get totally uniform particles by grinding with a mortal and pestle, he would be better off doing a crude match or particle size, and then using a blender.
Ex: For Anavar that would be “berry sugar” and Anavar, or Cialis and “maltodextrin”. I choose these as they have similar particle size and flow.
