Saw palmetto for acne

trying to avoid accutane has anyone tried anything like these herbal dht blockers. This is my last chance before jumping on accutane.

externally you can try witch hazel/alcohol and tea tree oil in small spray bottle to keep things try etc

Yeah my acmes getting worse now that I’m back on cruise, and I still don’t think I can take accutane because hair loss this is a god damn fucking nightmare

Dawn soap for back and chest, shiseido or chanel la mousse for face(stuff strips every molecule of oil off your face). The latter is pretty expensive stuff but worth it, wife buys it anyways.

Go hit a tanning bed 15 times in the next 30 days. UV radiation will nuke your acne. Plus being tan makes the muscles look wayy better. So it’s a win win.

I actually read about saw palmetto and acne before. Apparently females take it for hormonal acne and have had positive results.

IF you decide to try it out, let us know how it goes.

Coulda been placebo I’ve been having ups n downs lately but I took it and had anxiety from it (dht does in fact help with GABA neurotransmission and has anti anxiety effects) so decided not to try it.

However, I started taking just the recommended intake of vitamin a 8000 iu a tiny bit over. Accutane is a highly potent form of vitamin a slightly different.
It’s been helping a lot noticeably less oil. Skin a bit dry honestly. Apparently they use to dose the shit out of vitamin a in the 1900s for severe acne, and now accutane was made because they can patent it. Not to mention the side effects of both of em are pretty related when ur overdosing vitamin a.

nizoral as I’ve read eliminates most people’s steroid acne because Ketoconazole is an anti androgen. So topically on the skin it will inhibit dht from stimulating sebum glands as much. That helped a lot definitely worth a try.

Zinc is anti inflammatory and in high enough doses is said to completely inhibit 5 alpha reductase according to a study so I will start that to see how it is.

Vitamin B5 helps with fat metabolism to help slow sebum production. (Have not tried)

And one theory on an acne forum someone was going into how your skin over produces sebum if you’re deficient in vitamin d to help absorb more of it. Hit or miss for people on those forums I took it and my oil glands went nuts. Lots of relations. Apparently d3 increases androgen receptors 2 fold, increases igf1 by 30 points and increases follistatin as well as lowers shbg which could be bad for those on gear acne wise. Also inhibits aromatase to a small degree

On top of that head and shoulders has zinc pyrothionine which I found to be less effective but still up for debate.

Fish oil is anti inflmmatory

So a combination of all of these and saw palmetto if u can handle it may be a possible acne solution without accutane as long as you aren’t touching 19 nors and you keep estrogen in check

Insulin also plays a big roll in acne so maybe some chromium berberine for insulin sensitivity however that’s definitely reaching.

By combining all of these you are hopefully lowering dht a bit with zinc, therefor raising testosterone and possibly a bit more aromatase activity. You are helping fat metabolism to lower sebum production (b5), you are slowing down sebum glands with vitamin a, you are inhibiting dht to a further degree with saw palmetto, you are using nizoral to topically inhibit dht in the skin. So it’s sort of a natural ish systemic-topical approach
