Search thread specific

How does one search a specific thread? Particularly by user name. I mean, I am trying to search a thread for posts by the op. I used to could but now the search function is different. I can search by user but can't figure out how to select a specific thread. Help is very much appreciated, thank you in advance!

Go to the thread.
Hit the search button. (Magnifying glass)
Change the default option of 'Everywhere' to 'This thread'. Type in a user name in the 'By' field and that should do it.
