Okay.
I am going to give my opinion as I too ran into a similar situation.
I wouldn't exactly focus on estrogen as many doctors are not testing for it anymore.
I would pay more attention into two things, your SHBG and your injection frequency. Dose of course too.
I was currently on (0.5ml) 100mg e5d of testosterone cypionate by my doctor and my total T came back at 1227 and free T around 400.
My doctor and I agreed to lower the dose because for one, I was feeling way too stimulated, like endless energy and two my sex drive was okay. Wasn't bad or great.
E2 was at 69
So we lowered to 80mg e5d and within a couple weeks I started noticing I was feeling more relaxed and sex drive sky rocketed.
My SHBG was on the higher side so 1 injection e5d of 80mg works excellent in my case. It is true that lower SHBG would require higher frequency (Smaller doses).
Low SHBG isn't good either, some people feel better on a mid or higher SHBG. It really all depends on the individual and genetic response.
So in my opinion, after using an AI, it usually not the elevated estrogen causing the problem but your dose and frequency. Dr. Jordan Grant has an excellent video on estrogen/SHBG/AI use with libido.
Also, your not going to be walking around with a hard on 24/7, that's not how it works.
Alot of factors come into play your stress levels, your diet, and your sleep patterns.
For example, when I was on 100mg of testosterone at the beginning, I had insane energy but okay sex drive, but my wife's mother was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. She didn't want to have sex due to the stress which caused me also to not be in the mood. Psychology DOES play an effect at a subconscious level.
Also how is your diet, serious question here, are you eating plenty of healthy fats in your diet that can increase certain neurotransmitters to want to have sex? For example, I eat plenty of raw Pistachios, raw cashews, extra virgin olive oil. I notice a huge increase in blood flow and sensations to want to have alot of sex with my wife.
What I am saying is, look into everything and be honest with yourself before jumping onto an AI because someone on here told you so. Estrogen is also neuroprotective too.
When I was hypogonadal, I had low total T, low free T, and bottom of the barrel sensitive estrogen. I felt like SHIT.
Now my estrogen is on the high normal, sex drive is fantastic, mood is excellent, and my labs look better than when I wasn't on any TRT (HDL went from 54 to 76).
