Semaglutide tips and tricks for a newbie

My gal has decided to use sema on her latest cut. I’m debating using it myself to cut and for the anti-inflammatory components of it, and potentially using it low dose on a bulk. I’ve got both our diets locked, high protein, 4-5 days in the gym a week, both taking metimucil daily, yadayada.

Anyone got any good tips and tricks? Any things you wish you knew before you started? Anything like that? I’ve read a ton of these threads but thought I’d just flat out ask as there’s a wealth of experience in here.

Start low and slow. The worst thing to happen is taking too much too soon and now being afraid of the drug lol.

Give it time. Stick to the official Pharma protocol, that is injecting once a week and slowly titrating over 4 weeks each.

Girls often need less than men.

Drink enough water, split meals across the day.

Enjoy, it's a miracle!

When you start, it's like you've hit the brakes at 100mph as far as digestive motility is concerned.

It's extremely helpful to have a daily glass of metamucil fiber drink starting a few days before your first dose. It will control constipation and the opposite, which are the most pronounced sides for the first
few weeks.

Also, keep this in mind. The worst side effects are induced from eating "beyond your appetite". There are two pitfalls with this.

First, sides don't happen while you're eating, but around an hour later, So a lot of people don't make the connection. Small portions and STOP when your appetite is satiated.

Second, when increasing dose, overeating induced sides will happen with less food, immediately, but the additional appetite suppression doesn't usually manifest for a couple of days after the dose increase, so don't eat as much as you did before. Preemptively eat less right after you titrate up, and you'll avoid most sides.

Finally, if you start to hiccup, STOP eating. It's a warning sign. One more bite and GLP may severely punish you for it.

Wanted to thank you for this. I had seen you talking about it before and my gal is on week 2 with no sides and I suspect this magic drink is why. I started using it too and it’s powerful stuff lol.

Edit: also, on a different subject, but I’ve got 22um filters coming for my peptides cause you’ve convinced me lol.

Metamucil just keeps things moving, so you don't get nausea from food backing up, gerd, and all the rest.

Took me a while to accept that "old person" stuff, but it really is good for virtually everyone, and a natural fiber.

Site reactions have essentially disappeared since I started filtering my peptides. There was a learning curve to minimize loss. I push 1ml of BAC thorough the filter to prewet it before use, and when done, pull the syringe plunger out and push air into the filter to get as much of the residual fluid out.

The real shocker is how some peptides completely clog 13mm filters after just .5ml. Peptides are far smaller than .2um, so that tells me there's a lot of shit in there that shouldn't be. Had to pre filter with a 5um spike filter and switch to 25mm syringe filter for those.

- if side effects suck for you, try another incretin mimetic. Sema is the strongest on the GLP1 receptor, others (such as Tirz and Reta) affect GLP1 + other(s)
- if you start to feel off, check your glucose. Wife and I can get hypoglycemic if we cut out carbs completely (CGMs are super helpful)
- if you eat fatty foods over-eat, you'll feel like crap
- electrolytes are your best friend

Man I feel like garbage on the minimum dose of Sema. Run down and low level depression sets in for me. Anyone know why that would be?

I read that a small amount of people get the depression side effect. Off of it, I am a champ.

I think it has something to do with eliminating food noise and your mind doesn't know how to process it. IT was quite the experience realizing I wasn't snacking or eating much at all and don't have the urge. Unsettling a bit.

Correct, it has a direct effect on the same mechanism that drives addiction through reward and punishment. It eases off. Stay on the same dose and you'll feel better after 4-6 weeks tops. Stopping and starting is ill advised. It appears to create some kind of non-response to it when you return.

On the other hand, Tirz is far gentler, but somewhat slower acting, so consider using that instead.

Record your baseline heart rate, mine increased by 10-20bpm depending on the dosage. If it feels uncomfortable don’t hesitate to stop and start low again.

It's been recently established that GLP reduces heart rate variability by inhibiting signals from reaching neurons in the Vagus nerve.

If something is increasing heart rate, like caffeine, nicotine, anxiety, etc, it can take much longer than usual to come back down. So for those experiencing a higher heart rate while using a GLP, the current advice is to try and reduce any causes of heart rate stimulation. Over time, on a stable dose, this effect should lessen and is mostly experienced during the first 8 weeks.

Another, positive effect from this is that GLPs stabilize arrhythmias, restoring normal heart rhythms.

Not from my experience, it’s actually in their pamphlet as one of the side effects. Unless, they updated it or something changed recently.
