Shake only diet?

I've done a diet with 200 grams of no-carb protein shakes e/d plus some oatmeal or eggs in the morning, about 50gms of protein and some rice at night, and maybe a couple of slices of turkey, a shake, metamucil before bed. Worked well and continues to work well for me. Not as strict as could be, but I'm not a bodybuilder. My goal was to get my sprint time lower along with a bigger vertical. IOW, better strength to weight ratio, and the diet worked well for this purpose. About 25 lbs lost last time I did this over a three month period.

I've been eating that way for several years now and love it! I have metrx 5 times a day with one moderate chicken meal and a few small snacks of fruit and nuts. No problem holding muscle and strength eating this way. Some may argue that whole foods are better but in the end whole foods are digested into amino acids and other nutrients anyway. Foods like metrx and myoplex actually require less digestion as the proteins and other nutients get into you quicker. Guess you should try it and see how you respond. I think you might like it.

Myoplex.

You think I can live off of myoplex?

Why would you want to? You have to take into account bioavailability of fuel sources and MRP's just don't make it. It's a SUPPLEMENT to your already strict diet (hopefully). Plus it's EAS, what a shitbox company.--That's that!

I wouldnt go with EAS... but find another high quality protien and sure, why not... but I wouldnt do it for any extended period of time. Im doing a two day strict liquid diet but my purpose is absolute carb depleation... im taking updated BB pics on this comming saterday and so Ive been running a 100g/per day carb deal off and on (2 weeks depleat, 2 weeks load) for 2 rotations... followed by 9 days 100g/day and 2 days zero carb... followed by 3 days loading...

this is just the carb aspect...there are a bunch of others for H2O intake and limitations (towards the last 3 days before pics)... along with NA+ Depleation, Mag and K loading, ... ect... ect... and ect.

but back to what I was saying... I think that doing it for a short period of time is ok... im going to do it for 2 days since the powder i got is great, has very very low sodium, low carbs, and low fat... oh, and HIGH K+ :-)... Once I start carb loading I gotta slowly switch over to animal protiens and away from shakes... most likley around day two of carb loading.

sorry, I cant seem to controll my train of thought... must be the lack of carbs

FTT

I think you'll find that you're very, very, very hungry. That's the problem with liquid diets.
Exactly what I was thinking. Im on day 1 of my diet, having only had about 50g protein for breakfast. Im already starving and its only a few hours later. I have 4 weeks to make myself not as fat as Grizzly. :D
