Hello everyone-

New to the forum! 39 year old self-employed father up here in Maine.

I've been lifting for the past 10+ years and it has been nothing but uphill for me. Less gains than my gym buddies and always have struggled with my 6' light build frame.

Last year I was diagnosed with Charcot-Marie-Tooth type 1A and the light came on to why I can't build. It's a neuropathy classified under the Muscular Dystrophy title. Atrophy is prominent in my lower calves and ankles. Small wrists with an abnormal amount of flexibility due to the lack of muscle. It's far from debilitating but makes for frustrating images in the mirror!

I initiated the discussion of self medicating with my physician. I've researched for months on the benefits for somebody in my shoes and I've come to the decision that I'll try to gather as much info as I can and try it. My doc actually supports my venture if I am responsible with my usuage. Being self-employed, the out of pocket costs to fill a prescription would bury me.

So, here I am reading, learning and hoping I find what I need! So far the forum is crazy full of info! A lot to absorb!

Best-
D's Dad

Welcome to meso. I hope you get all the info you need here. If I can be of any help hit me up.
Much appreciated my new friend-

I'm studying, learning and trying to absorb as much as I can from a beginner's standpoint. 6 months ago when I decided to venture into this world I had no clue what I was looking at! It's amazing all the info (wrong and right) you find with a late night cup of coffee and hours of searching!

Thank you again for the welcome!

There are 2 members who are qualified to answer your question, and they are MD's. That's not free unless one of them answers your post. My guess is that will not happen, and that is for liability reasons. You should be asking this question to your attending physicians, not on Meso Rx.

Good luck brother. We are pulling for you, but your question is not one that you will get an answer to here.

Keep us posted.

Thanks man!

My PCP and Neurologist actually both have "given the nod" to my question. My neurologist is a little less prone to "write a script" as my PCP is but being self employed the cost is through the roof!

I'm actually entering this as a newbie. I know and have asked the right people if it'll benefit so that's what brings me here. With the cost of prescriptions and knowledge of what I should expect in my case...is what brings me here.

Thanks for the welcome brother!

What did your Dr suggest when you discussed using AAS with him?
I told him my goals and what training means to me. We went into depth about being no cure for what I have but the benefits of gaining and building with some help. Again, not looking to oppress the Dystrophy, looking for help to gain.

I printed out multiple articles with beginner stacks to show him. Basic beginner- 8 weeks/test e/arimidex/clomid (the typical) for instance. He had nothing negative about the shorter beginner sets. That was back in Febuary when we spoke and he made me promise to research and establish connections with individuals that can guide me. He'll support with blood work and anything needed and with a whisper says "I'm not a steroid pro or user. I think it'll help you with your goals and health. Find someone reliable who is"

Here I am.

I lift at our local University (wife works there) and the place is crawling with AAS'. I've listened, been asked and watched it for awhile now but there is a HUGE difference between a 39 year old father's goals and a kid jacked up for the defensive line and college chicks!

"Dis is whatchya need man" is not really the help I'm looking for! Lol

It looks like you already know what you are going to do. I'm by no means telling you to do it, that should be a personal decision with help from your Dr. And I dont know anything about your condition. What the norm is for noobs to aas is a 10week cycle of test E or C. That taken with .5mg of Arimidex every other day to help control estrogen. Blood work should be done precycle to get a baseline on what to go by. Blood work should also be done around 5-6 weeks on cycle to check and make sure everything is ok and to make adjustments to your AI if needed. Post cycle therepy should begin 3 weeks after your last pin. Usually Nolvadex 20mg a day and Clomid 50mg a day for 4 weeks should work. Bloods should also be done after pct to make sure your levels get back to normal.

You're on the same line of thinking that I am. Do you mind some private messages when I get ready?

Sure. I'm no expert in aas but with beginner stuff I'm pretty knowledgeable. With what you are trying them for no other more exotic compounds should be needed.

Agreed-

My goals are realistic for me and the hand I've been dealt. I'm not looking for crazy!

Welcome! Glad to have ya!

I'd get on some testosterone and stay on, fuck coming off. That's me though. :)
