Shoulder rant, need team hug ...

I'm gutted. On cycle, been going well but have been struggling to get a bench PR for 3 weeks. Got what I thought was a minor infection due to golfers elbow, but got some tape and barrelled on. The pain is sort of moving up to the shoulders.

Squeezed out an extra rep on my bench a few weeks ago, but haven't been able to pack on more.

Got some pain control needed on the way down with heavy weight from my bi's and to the shoulders, but again, slowed down and barrelled on.

This morning, though, I had to face the music. I'm not getting that PR. Not because I'm plateauing. Its because of pain in the left fucking shoulder and upper arm.

Absolutely gutted, 6 weeks into my 20-week transformation and I get another injury to deal with. Arrrrgh hulk style ! :mad:

I'll definitely need to go lighter on the load. What can I do - dips, do 5*5s, pause bench, higher reps, drugs, tape my shoulders (does that even work?), fuck it, burn down churches, rape and pillage viking stylee?

I'm lost. Depressed. Explosively aggressive. Want to blow up things. Help !

Wogga, that's a great suggestion. I looked them up and they're about 50 USD before post and shipping and all that. Well worth a try, have seen them on the youtube-thing. I'll get a compressor thing for the golf elbow while I am at it.

Had a crap day, been eating too much, shit workout, autoregulation pointed me back out of the gym again after 15 minutes. Maybe its just time for me to crack out the deca in my next cycle.

Anyways, any other suggestions, you wealth of knowledge bank you team !

This may not help the shoulder, but i think it will make you feel better. I would personally take it easy and give it time to get better so as not to have it turn into something more serious, there is always more time to hit that pr.
 
Shoulder impingement. How's your form, how much do you flare your arms? Do you do rotator cuff work? I always have a good shoulder warm up that consists of face pulls and some other shit. Take the time to heal and work on your form. Stop flaring your arms. You can also tart doing neutral grip with the dumbbells in the mean time.
 
Cheers big boy. Need to work more on form to get more Tri and back engagement. Am close to 45 degrees on the elbows so not too bad. Since it hurts from elbow and up to the shoulders, it smells more like tendinitis . It even carries over to deads. Failed on 175 kgs deadlift today, tear popping pain. Will try a sports massage, see if I get the knots out.
