Shutdown round 2

Here we go again, another round of shutdown here in PA. As if my gym and almost every other small business hasn’t been hit hard enough from last shutdown! Luckily I am on cruise and will be till about February, or when the gym opens back up “if it opens back up” and I have access to a small gym at my job but I feel for everybody that dosent have that option. Supposedly opening back up in January but that’s what Wolfy said last time: just a 2 week shutdown- that turned into 3+months. What’s the word for you fellas in other states?

Thankfully no shutdown up here in NH yet but that can change as cases are rising fast here. Had a 3 month shutdown from March till June which sucked. As I work from home and the gym is close by I am at least lucky for now. Currently have adjustable Bowflex db's, bands and able to go jogging in the hilly woods near me.

Governor has a stupid mask on ALL the time yet tests positive for covid Tuesday. But miraculously tested negative on Wednesday. Then today tells us all how we need to be safe.

Oh and then also tacks on “suspension of K-12 sports”. Wanna know why? Well, maybe politics with PIAA who only just yesterday decided to proceed forward with the winter season. The governor is putting power and politics ahead of our kids. This has nothing to do with our health. I’m so fucking pissed off. Don’t be surprised when they report “a pickup truck drove into the lobby of the state capital building today”.

Governors think they have all the answers...yet they do the same things that put people at risk. Smh.

We need an insurgency. The red white and blue is a tyrant state so it can collapse and go to hell. Burn that ugly flag and build something in its place where freedom is allowed.

My gym isn't closing... He took it to court last time he was fined and won. Although, he did sort of shut down as far as appearances go... You just had to go in the back.

As far as the restaurants go, good luck to them... They're fucked.

Bad ass the court sided with him.

I agree. His personality is tough to describe... I guess he's better in small doses is the best way to say it, kind of a little bit of a big personality. I don't see eye to eye with him on a lot of things however, I really grew to respect him over that whole thing.

For instance, when the cop came into the gym to cite him... He told the guy, "sir, I have absolutely no intention of shutting down so you might as well write me 30 of those tickets and we can call it a month." A local state GOP senator came in not long after that to show his support. I think he might have been threatened to have his business license suspended though so he did eventually "close" the doors... With a sign on the front door that said "fuck tom wolf".

A number of places near me in PA are openly stating they are not closing (mostly restaurants, 1 MMA gym and another reg gym). These places are at a point if either 1. Shut down and go out of business or 2. Stay open and see what happens. More and more places needs to resist the tyranny forced upon them. Only then or when the political tide shifts will it fully end. The governor has not shown any scientific reason why these places should be forced to shut down.

I was out at a place that had a large gathering of people and it’s amazing how obedient people are with the mask-wearing outdoors. It got me thinking that things will likely return to normal as people do enjoy being together in large gathering spaces (concerts, sporting events, etc).

I'm a restaurant server at a nice hotel in a big city here in Commifornia. As of last week, it's going to be my second time being furloughed this year. I'm absolutely over this nightmare. I'm going to be fine, but I feel sorry for the people who didn't get their unemployment checks or those who were already having a hard time living paycheck to paycheck. At least I can see the light at the end of the tunnel with the COVID vaccine being distributed in a few days....

You would think late night shopping or dining would be far safer if you were worried about social distancing.

My middle of the night workouts after 1 a.m. was the favorite time to go to the gym, it was usually just me and 3 other guys in a huge area all to ourselves. Now they herd us in tight with restricted hours and you gotta stand around waiting to get to the bench and squat rack. It killed the joy for a loner like myself that wants people out of my way.

Exactly man. I have been going to my gym at 5AM when It opens sence it reopened back in June. It was literally me, 3 other people and the kid at the front desk. We were all wearing masks, wiping things down after use and social distancing “hate that PC term” but somehow we are “high risk” ? Few times when I missed my morning workout and went in the evening I did see a lot more people at the gym, no masks, crowding together but... in all the time sence reopening their was not one case of covid that was traced back to the gym.
