small dark red area on glute

I gave myself an injection into my right glute.
I have done this many times before without any problems.
I aspirated as usual and there was no blood in the tube so I proceded with the injection. When I pulled the needle out of the puncture area it bled like crazy, more than any previous time.
Today, I noticed a dark red spot where I gave myself the injection.
Looks almost like a bruise.
Does this mean I hit a blood vessel? Is this anything I should be worried about? Thanks for your input.

yep, you probably nicked a blood vessel on the way in or out. the red spot is just blood under the skin. nothing to worry about unless it starts getting warm. if this happens, then go see a doc.

Don't sweat it bro......but if you are just stickin at will back there, keep an eye out for that large sciatic nerve....hit that and the gym is not anywhere in your future......put your thumb on your hip and measure it back to your index finger...inject there....stay in the upper outer area....you prob already knew that, but just incase, T-Rex
