solid review or shill?

Its challenging for members here to walk the fine line that separates a great review from shillish nuthuggery.

saying positive things about medlabgear and pharmacist is risk free, but giving praise to any source here will land you on the shill list.

my idea of a meso worthy review would include reports on actual gains, even better blood work when it applies.

Members that monitor shill activity should share their own criteria for a solid review.

Frankly, I think I'm pretty lenient on reviews. If someone posts that they had an overall good experience, even without bloodwork, I don't have much of an issue with it.

I'm looking at how a source trends... One review, one blood test, one lab report, etc etc doesn't mean much individually. But if you have a trend of good labs, bloods, general experience reviews... That's what matters.

If we have a source that is clearly trending poorly... And a member I've never heard of before or someone who lives in a particular source thread pops in and says the gear is fire and is dosed correctly but they have nothing to substantiate their claims, then it's time to scrutinize.

A lot of times the review just needs to be simple and honest, it's not too difficult to see when a review is becoming exaggerated.

Edit - I think it's important to add that the people scrutinizing reviews should give as much thought to their words as those that post the reviews... Just because someone posted a review doesn't make them a shill.

This board is meant to have source reviews. Millard wanted a place where you and I could come and say whatever we wanted about a source and not have it censored. This system of free speech gets abused on a regular basis, myself included at times. The free speech here has, ironically, lead to some members being afraid to even post a review... I don't ever want to see that happen.

It makes some guys feel important to assasinate a members credibility or a potential sources credibility. I’ll say it again. I know for certain of one person who doesn’t even train and spends 90% of the time in the UG talking nonsense behind a keyboard. They don’t use any sources in the UG anyway.

 Rant, in 3... 2... 1...

i think it's all in how a review is written and how that member carries on before and after the review.

Example. The Naps review thread. There's some honest reviews in there. Guys who are satisfied with what they got and state it plain and simple. Then there's the discount whores that write a review that stops just short of saying that Naps gear cures cancer.

Usually the dick riders are easy to spot. They rush to the defense of a source or talk shit in other source threads, while the vast majority of their overall posts are in the thread of the source that they've chosen to lube up for.

But honestly. The big picture is this. You, me, Eman, The Bull and every other mother fucker here are all just dudes behind a monitor or in my case, a phone. Most of what we write, (when we aren't citing factual information), is just the opinion of one guy to another on an anonymous internet forum.

Is it really going to effect your life when someone on the other side of a screen, likely in another state or even another country called you a shill?

i think sometimes we take this forum a little to seriously. Anyone can call anyone anything, but at the end of the day, it's still just an opinion.

Okay, now that i got that off my chest. :D

i think reviews should be kept simple. What you got, t/a time, how long you ran it, how it worked out for you. Keep personal feelings regarding the source aside. Unless the source is your wife or girlfriend, let them handle their business and beefs with other members.

What if the source gives a member free shit? Should his review be taken as serious as a member who paid? Or should it be taken with a grain of salt?

Any member worth a fuck shouldn’t be receiving free gear in return for a review.

sometimes a source will throw in some freebies, and that's ok.
just disclose it in your review.

ive gotten extra items from nearly every source ive used over the years. way different than receiving free shit in return for your review.

I’ve also received freebies, usually in the case of spend x amount and get x free. Completely different than receiving free gear in return for a favorable review.

The only incentives I agree with are reimbursement for bloods and lab analysis.

I don't agree with freebies, especially when the source is giving you freebies because you told them you gave a good review or that you're going to give a review.

I would like to add a little to what @Eman posted.

We as members are encouraged to post reviews. Good or Bad. That's the pure facts.

Those that make reviews within their first post on the forum are not credible in my eyes. Yes they could be telling the truth and most likely are giving their honest feedback. I just don't believe it's necessary and makes the source look bad(asking for reviews, giving discounts, etc.).

@AnTabolic73 receiving freebies for money sent to pay for an order is acceptable.

If someone posts bloodwork, before and after pictures etc. and gives an honest review. I see no problem.

My bullshit alarm starts to go off when people give vague reviews of labs who are known to give discounts for positive reviews.

That or when someone give a review and ten new user accounts show up to agree with them.

I have no problem with a credit for bloodwork, that helps me the source and the community(if I decide to post it).

Free shit? I'm fine with that too. As long as members don't ask for the free shit. If I order for e.g. albuterol and they throw in some ketotifin(since they go hand in hand) or I order syringes and they throw in alcohol wipes, that's cool. If you mention that he threw some freebies in, im fine with that too.

Don't ask for freebies for a review, that's not cool.

I don't mind reviews without bloodwork, but it would be preferred. That said I dont always get bloodwork on cycle, just trt bloods. There's also compounds that don't show up anyway so it's a trust factor.

I've given reviews before, without bloods and stated just that, so it's really more of an opinion. I've never gotten free stuff. Not even sure how that works. Some one sent me some extras one time, but that's because they fucked up an order.

I know a few guys on BOP who hasn't bought gear for ages. All they do is shill for sources, and offer to post positive reviews in exchange for freebies. It seems to work particularly well when the source is under scrutiny or failing to deliver.

The sad thing is they're vets. And the whole thing is completely transparent. Some of these cunts then even onsell the freebies! :D

I rate reviews in the same way as other posts in general, and tend to trust the feedback from dudes who post progress pics or images of their food more than someone who looks like this:
