Somatostatin

As we age somatostatin tends to dominate and block the release of signficant growth hormone. Today there are two approaches to overriding this: exogenous gh and secretologues (don't hold you breathe waiting for one of these to pass any signficant testing). No one is developing a somatostatin inhibitor. I wonder why. We have inhibitors for every other chemical in the body. If the pituitary is operative, this could prove to be an excellant competitor to the use of exogenout gh. Just a thought.

One problem with that therapy is that it would also shut down the digestive process.

thanks. Obviously taking what I know of pharmacokinetics in the psychotropic area does not apply to the same for endocrinology.

Ya, they make us learn all these doggoned physiological processes in medical school.

I send my guys with emotional morbidities to Psychologists.
