I'm aware that IGF is insulin like growth factor; a type of polypeptide that acts similar to insulin in the system. IGF1 is produced by the liver when stimulated by GH. So what is this talk of IGF being sold? If so, how is it used and can it be tested for?

How is it used? ... uh.. you inject it :p

No but really... its best used post workout.. injected bi-lateraly into the muscles just worked since lifting actualy increases the amount of IGF1 receptors in the muscle or muscles used durring the lift. The type of IGF1 being sold is slightly differnet than the type that is naturaly produced following gh metabolism in the body. The type being sold (long igf-1 r3) is different in that the 3rd amino acid in the chain is switched out for a different amino acid... tests have shown that this switch makes the hormone much more anabolic.. which is what we want. Also there is an extra amino chain attached to the begining or end of the IGF1 chain which makes it "slippery". THis is good because most of your natural igf1 is bound by the IGF-1 binding protiens... IGFBP's (i think there are 3 of them.. but for now we are only concerned with the BP for igf1)... since IGF-1-LR3 is "slippery" it isnt bound by the IGFbp and is able to go about your body doing its thing... making you grow.. shuttling nutrients into muscle cells...ect.

Not sure if it can be tested for... I doubt it... I think that the testers would have to really know exactly what they were looking for to figure out that you were on it.

anyway... hope that helps
