sprint workouts on gear?

I have been hearing a lot of new research that says hi intensity/ interval training is more effective than low intensity longer duration workouts. I also notice how cut and muscular sprinters look.

Has anyone incorporated sprints into there workouts? While on gear? What kind of results did you achieve? I was thinking of lifting 3days a week, and sprinting 3 days a week.

The entire NFL?.........

But seriously yeah its been done alot for a long time, matter of fact I think Ben Johnson got caught with a designer version of Winny if im not mistaken and stripped, and his sprinter GF got hers taken away too for later admitting it. I dont have any specific advice about applying the steroids but I will say from a training standpoint you should definately stay very limber with stretching and make sure you are fully warmed up, oh and I wouldnt sprint the same day you training hamstrings:)

Try this (called phosphates)

Mark out a 40m line to sprint and have a stopwatch at hand. Do a good warm up using DROM, DO NOT STATICLY STRETCH!

Sprint the 40m, take a 30 second break, sprint the 40m again. Do this with a 30 second break until you have doen 10 sprints (thats one set). Take a five minute break. Do this 3 times. Try not to do it too soon before a leg day as it will affect your lifts. DO it 2-3 days after legs, depending on your recovery. Let me know how you get on (you should get sick the first time, don't let that put you off though!):)

Sprints are def a viable fat burning cardio source. They are also much more muscle spearing than long drawn out cardio. It utilizes much more calories also, not just for the time your doing it, but for the time afterwards. Your metabolism stays elivated much longer. Make sure that if your going to do them though, do them in the morning before you eat any carbs to ensure your body is still in fat burning mode instead of glycogen burning. I like to do sprints in the morning and long distance at night

Thanks guys. I have been really busy with work so i have let my physique slip a little lately. Starting in Jan. i am planning a "come back" and will incorporate sprints. I posted before and after pics when doing primarily lifting only. I will dig them out and do a comparison between that and a half lifting/half sprinting workout. We'll see how it goes.

Sprints shouldn't be affected by being on AS, if that's your concern. If you can find a large hill or long staircase, that's even better to sprint on.

I'd be less of a stranger, but my 'net access is limited right now. In a month or so, things should be better.
