i have been squatting for over four years now and i can't seem to get that strong. I am 6ft 4in and i started squating with a wider stance a yr ago to help this out. i do squats in different order on my leg days but i can't get that strong. When i start to go to failure w/ heavy weight i have a tendency to lean forward. I tried looking up but my shoulders seem to lean forward anyways. Any ideas? i usually do anywhere from 3-5 sets going up to a weight i can only do 4 reps with.

Well, I'm 6'2", so I'll see if I can help you out. First off, you need to train squats first in your leg routine. Use the stance that is most comfortable to you. I also sugest you look at the bar placement, etc... if you are leaning forward. Make sure you are doing full squats, not half, not quarter, full. If you don't, you are just pissing in the wind. Also remember you have to lift heavy to get stronger. I don't recomend going to failure if you are looking for strength. Try doing the 5x5 or something of that nature. You might want to look at the DFHT program also, it has alot of good info in it. The main thing to remember though, is to make sure your form is correct and you are putting 100% into every rep.
hope this helps some.
