St. Peter's English Ale

Any UK guys know much about this organic brew? Picked a bottle up at my local liquor store and the stuff just knocked my socks off. I took one gulp and the taste took me back more than 30 years. Tastes exactly like the draught ale the barmen used to pour back in the days when most of the beer where I grew up came from small local breweries. I stopped drinking beer more than 20 years ago because it began to taste to me like gassy swamp water. Now I know what's been missing.

The stuff is made in a place called Bungay Suffolk. www.stpetersbrewery.co.uk

I've got alcohol on the brain these days because I'm cutting and only allow myself three drinks a week. Damn I miss a good bottle of wine!

What's your favorite brew to drink when you only allow yourself to drink one bottle every two or three nights?

Got to be Gunniess Extra Cold draghught my local bar even puts a shamrock on top. If not Gunniess then I like a bit of the Hobogoblin.

Smooth as glass

Caffrys extra smooth, (On Tap)

Similar to Guiness but a little smoother.

In bottles try Bellhaven Best!!!

I've had caffry's draught, does tatse fine. Is Bellhaven a UK Brew or US?

I don't think I've ever had St. Peter's. Thanks for the tip. My picks? Most evenings I would prefer a Trappist Belgian like Notre Dame de Saint Remy of Rochefort. Most people just call it Rochefort. But when the summer begins to get hot like it is now (in TX), I lean towards crisp and hoppy bitters and IPA's like LaGunitas.

caffarys draft is a nice pint. The thing is beer taste different everywhere you go. You never have the same tasteing pint ever.

Damn, you guys are really making me want to get back on the wagon. Or get back off the wagon...Which ever it is that means start drinking again. :)

Good stuff

Bellhaven is a Uk Beer.

You should be able to get some good UK Beers in bottles easily enough in the US. In my younger days I made a point of trying a different bottled beer or ale every week (From all parts of the world) Most of the British ones were the best!!!

I've also lived in Germany where there Beer is world renouned but it still isn't as good as the british ones!!!

I live in England in the summer and go to university in the states, and there is nothing worse than switching from IPA to coors light. It's made me start brewing my own IPA in one of those home brewery kits.

I brew some as well. You can make some pretty hardcore beers if you know what you're doing. I've made a couple batches that measured out to about 12%.
