I could give you lots of scientific information on that but who cares about all that hypothetical mumbo jumbo. The only thing that counts is the real world and you'll have your real world answer in about 9 months!

P.S. After 7 weeks, you're probably coming pretty close to shooting blanks. But like they say, close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades. :D

my wife got pregnant after 3 years of trying, on the 8th week she
had a miscarige. I had went on for a little over 4 weeks on 500mg
test and 300mg deca. three months later we are doing this invetro
thing again. her eggs are ready to be harvested, I go in to make love
to the cup, do my biz and go back to work. the fertility center calls to tell me I have no-0-zilch sperm. honestly I think we are all different.
but I do have 14mo twin girls and my wife is 33 weeks with a boy.
when it rains if pours.lol (ithink i am actually crying)

Time to get some baby shoes.

There have been several studies conducted in Norway and Sweden where men were given a variety of doses of Testosterone Enathanate and a placebo. The results showed that up until month 6, the average male had no statistically significant drop in fertility. However, between months 6 and 9 there was a rapid drop in both sperm count and sperm activity, rendering an infertility rate of approximately 95% by month 9. The doseage used was 600mg/week with no anxillary products. Although some people would believe a higher dose might yield quicker results, the scientist found that there was little coorelation between dose and rapid lose of fertility.

Sorry for the answer.....but hope this helps,

Kemo

Your wee willies take 60-75 days to go from primordial germ cell to men on a mission. Odds are that sperm count may fall dramatically during a cycle but that actual level where fertility suffers is so low and individual sperm counts vary so much that it may be hard to reliably predict when (or if) an AAS cycle may produce sterility.

FSH (follicular stimulating hormone) drives sperm maturation and it is suppressed just like LH (luteinizing hormone) by AAS. But as above, no one really knows the answer to your question.

My advice would be Plan B . . . quick!!

ya your count is reduced but you're probably not going to be sterile....next time she can get the morning after pill....me and a few girls i have been with have had to go that route, it works.

Sorry Kemo but I find this difficult to believe. I'm wondering if those studies you mention were financed by someone with an agenda. There have been literally hundreds of studies done on various forms of Testosterone and its use as a male contraceptive. Numerous studies have found that up to half of the men in the studies show zero sperm count after 3 months.

The following study is fairly recent and representative of what generally occurs. Also keep in mind, the cycles we take as bodybuilders are at considerably higher dosages than what any study uses. Not to mention the concurrent use of additional AAS which when combined are possibly even more suppressive than Test alone. Which means we may tend to have a higher and faster degree of suppression than what's usually found in all these studies.

Investigation of a novel preparation of testosterone decanoate in men: pharmacokinetics and spermatogenic suppression with etonogestrel implants.

Anderson RA, Zhu H, Cheng L, Baird DT.

MRC Human Reproductive Sciences Unit, Centre for Reproductive Biology, Edinburgh, UK. r.a.anderson@hrsc.mrc.ac.uk

We have investigated the pharmacokinetics and effects on the male reproductive axis of a novel preparation of testosterone decanoate (TD) with a progestogen implant. Twenty healthy Chinese men were administered TD (400 mg intramuscular 4 weekly) with two subcutaneous (SC) etonogestrel implants. Trough testosterone concentrations rose with repeated administration. Peak concentrations 1 week after the fourth injection were 31 +/- 2 nmol/liter.

Both LH and FSH were rapidly suppressed and continued to fall during treatment. Spermatogenesis was also suppressed, to <or=1 x 10(6)/mL in all men with 16 (80%) azoospermic at 12 weeks. (azoospermic means zero sperm)

Treatment was associated with an increase in weight, and also increases in hemoglobin concentration (9%) and hematocrit (15%). No subjects withdrew from the study, although the study was terminated after subjects had completed 12 to 18 weeks as some men were found to have elevated liver enzyme tests.

(what do you know, sounds like they were on a "cycle" :) )

These data demonstrate that the pharmacokinetics of TD are improved compared to previous injectable testosterone preparations, although peak testosterone concentrations rise briefly into the supraphysiological range. The speed and degree of spermatogenic suppression suggest that this combination has promise as an effective male contraceptive.

MaxRep, I do agree with you but this is not something that should be considered an effective contraceptive, I have had friends that have made that mistake.

My training partner recently impregnated his girl around week 9 or 10 of a Test/Deca/Dbol cycle (Dbol first 4 weeks). He could not believe it and thought his girl must have been cheating. I will have to show him this thread to ease his mind.

Trust me, I'm not saying to count on a cycle as an effective form of birth control. I'm just pointing out that sperm counts start dropping fairly quickly with some people going to zero after about 3 months. Hey, it only takes one of those little guys to get the job done. :)

I had my sperm count checked after a 12 week cycle and was sterile as a door knob. Didn't last forever though, I'm sitting here with my little girl. So it was obviously the juice. But I do have friends concieve while on. It's still a crap shoot, (no phun intended).]
