Sterilizing own vials and stoppers

Does anyone do this themselves? With just an oven, soap, chemicals?

I buy presteilized, and actually re brew fill thats vial 2x, since its still sterile inside. Anyone do there own though?

Probably not worth it, already saving a ton brewing myself.

My process relies on having silicon stoppers to facilitate dry heat sterilization.

1. Wash stoppers and vials in soap/water and rinse thoroughly with distilled water
2. Submerge in isopropyl and set out for alcohol to evaporate for ~1min, rinse thoroughly in distilled water (vials/stoppers are transferred during this step with soap and alcohol cleaned tongs onto alcohol cleaned surfaces)
3. Dry heat sterilize covered with alcohol cleaned tinfoil, 375 F for 70min, leave a small gap for steam to escape (CDC suggests 340 F for 60min)
4. Place stoppers into vials with sterile gloves while still slightly warm

I syringe filter, so I crimp after filtering.

30-50ml pre sterile empty vials are the way to go imo

Unless your trying to be a drug dealer lol
If you rotate around alot i would think its fine?

Yeay for 4-5$ 30 mL vials last a long time when brewing gear. I guess its worth it.

Or even a 25 pack of 10 mL vials for 25$ is solid. It is worth it your right

Unless you’re brewing a lot and going through lots of vials and stoppers, I’m not sure it’s worth it to sterilize your own stuff
