Steroid Laws in New Zealand

I saw this news article blurb that stated anabolic steroids are legal to possess for personal use in New Zealand but the importation and distribution of steroids is illegal. Can anyone verify?

This assertion was attributed to Graeme Steel, executive director of Drug-Free Sport NZ:

Steroids were legal to use, but not to import or prescribe, Mr Steel said.

You'd think they'd be as fascistic as the goverment of Oz. Only one way to find out is bring in a vial of veggie oil and declare it next time anyone is there.

Well, I got some information about steroids during my journey. An Anabolic Steroids are illegal in New Zealand, in fact theirs people are very hard to go out of NZ because of their rigorous custom checks to stop steroids importing.
