Steroids among heroin and cocaine sold by drug dealer

Steroid black market pushed further underground by "war on steroids". No longer are steroid dealers just members of bodybuilding subculture looking to make extra money. Steroids have become just another drug among many on a dealer's list.

On July 1, 2011, the Berkshire County Drug Task Force raided Begley’s home, where he was found to be in possession of three unlicensed firearms and ammunition, as well as 205 bags of heroin, 53 vials of anabolic steroids and a small amount of cocaine.

At the time of his arrest, Begley told police he was addicted to heroin and was selling the drug to cover pay for his own habit.

Begley had previously pleaded guilty to possession of heroin with intent to distribute, three counts each of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, improper storage of a firearm, illegal ownership of a firearm, six counts of possession of ammunition without a firearm identification card, possession of cocaine (second offense), and possession of anabolic steroids.
