The United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) has published what they call a “groundbreaking research report” about the perception of sports in the United States. Discovery Education conducted the survey which was paid for by the USADA. USADA, whose activities are funded in large part by taxpayers via federal government grants, no doubt hopes that their research helps justify the need to allocate taxpayer dollars to fight doping in sports.

i also value honesty, fair play, respect for others and teamwork. but the playing field is naturally uneven. so complete fairness is impossible. why seperate olympians and paralympians. and its hard to be honest about enhancing your performance considering the consequences. as someone whos not bound to anti doping codes those could include prison time, fines and forfeiture for myself. so dont do me any favors. for atheletes, fines, public humiliation, and discredit of acomplishments.
if there is an over emphasis on winning, why have competitions at all. why give out awards or medals. why make winners and losers. and in order to cheat you have to break rules. which are man made. especially non analytical rules. as an american i will also reinforce that i care about integrity. but integrity comes from within.
parents who hope there children will develop personal and social values through playing games are looking in the wrong place. are they unable to instill them in there own children. and what if those values arent what they acctually want.
atheletes dont have any responsiblity other than to be the best athelete they can be. especially as over payed as some of them are. which is very enticing. and the pedestal high. and criminal behavior off the field only makes them criminals.
if coaches rank as the number one influence and coaches arent doping, why are the kids doping. wait there not. out of 51635 only 21 were. wheres the crisis.
americans rank performance enhancing drugs as the most important problem in sports. in what way. can you be more specific. whats so problematic about braking records.
two thirds agree that winning is over emphasized. stop declaring winners or losers. stop giving out medals.
im interested in how the study was conducted. especially considering who funded it. and how many children were asked. how old. kids arent that hard to coerce. or manipulate. neither are most adults. so i guess who was asked also matters.
as for your integrity. i question it. i see this witch hunt lacking honesty, integrity, or fairness to everyone. especially when tax dollars are being used. the money could certainly be used in better ways than trying to catch so called cheaters. there are more important worldly causes than anti doping. have you read the news latley.

Steroids would certainly make life difficult for those, not using. I am no great athlete, but I have to think it'd be amazing, what a truly gifted athlete could do, when given that advantage. Put Mark Spitz or Lance Armstrong or Carl Lewis or steroids and see what they could do, on testosterone?

Just wow.

With everything that's wrong with the world they government spend millions to catch the "criminals" that use substance in or out of sports. They say they hurt the game they destroy the picture or damage the grace of the game, I call bs.

First off there are more cases of professional athletes cheating on their wife, having illegitimate children, rape, abuse, drugs, disorderly conduct than that of using aas. Which of these is more damaging? A guy hitting 50 homeruns on aas or him beating on his wife, for some reason people look at the fact that he used aas to hit the 50 homeruns. They want to put an astride next to the players that have been found of doping, well I say they put the same astride next to the players that broke and set records before blacks and hispanics where allowed to play in professional sports.

I don't see a crisis in my high school (I occasionally go back to help the football team) there have been abut 10 kids to use aas out of a good 10000 that's not a crisis, the real crisis is that at least half of the larger number have smoked pot and most drink under age.

Its a shame the government finds time and money to waste on finding who's doing what instead of helping the world, saving lifes, reaching those that have been let behind. Its just a shame.
