Just saw this introduced on the Senate floor by Sen. Portman (OH). Here's the brief description from Congress.gov:
Official Titles as Introduced:
A bill to amend the Tariff Act of 1930 to ensure that merchandise arriving through the mail shall be subject to review by U.S. Customs and Border Protection and to require the provision of advance electronic information on shipments of mail to U.S. Customs and Border Protection and for other purposes.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sounds to me like Big Pharma is using the emotional energy from the Fentanyl overdoses to push legislation that will allow the USPS to warrantlessly search and seize, most likely using the unrestricted communications intelligence that the NSA omnipotently collects and disseminates to law enforcement agencies.
Am I reading more into this than I should be? Just wondering if anyone else had seen this and what their thoughts are in general. First thread so hope I did it right.
