storage of lyophilised HCG

My Pregnyl box states that the product should be stored 2-8 deg C. The presentation is designed for immediate use, so it's referring to the storage of the unopened contents. Does anyone know how important this is? I mean I wouldnt leave it lying around in the sun, but I would have thought it would be quite happy at room temp for a few days. I guess the worry could be it sitting in a courier's van on a 35 deg day.

But simply, your package insert is wrong. The 2-8 C is for mixed hCG. They must have gotten those numbers from their formulation of hCG that comes with bacteriostatic water or something.

My hCG (and hCG is hCG is hCG) says to "Store at controlled room temperature 15-30C (59-86F).

As for a hot van during transport, I really don't think you have anything to worry about.

Do you mean that your hCG is already mixed when you get it, and they are telling you to store it at 2-8? That makes sense. In that case, you would have to think that the stuff would have to be shipped cold. This would be a good question for a pharmacist or for the manufacturer.

Im in Australia..and we get Pregnyl in the ampules here too...It says the same thing on the packaging it must be refrigerated whilst NOT MIXED?
It also says that it must be used immediately once mixed and to discard any unused portion!
It doesnt seem to come with bacteriostatic water here.
