Strange film

Here are the other vials - as you can see that have not been opened. I tilted the vial to the right so the liquid would remove part of what is on the inside.

The oil is those vials looks like cooking oil. If Astro or any other meso source ever sent me something like the first vial you showed us, I would desperately ask for my money back. I take no replacement, because that's a testament of how dirty they brew.

What is the oil made of? Could the solvents or other ingredients possibly be eating the rubber stopper? ...... Just a thought.

I can't really see any film in the pics you are posting.

But one time, I did accidentally get rubbing alcohol mixed into gear that I was taking on vacation with me (short version of a long story). I added the gear to a different type of bottle, and before adding the gear to the new "stealth" bottle. I sterilized the new bottle with alcohol...which would have been fine had I let all the alcohol evaporate, but I didn't...

Afterwards I had a product, that was "cloudy" in appearance, with a milky/translucent film across the top. I can't say for sure the film was due to the alcohol, but that has always been my assumption.

Perhaps peps sterilizes his media bottles or vials with alcohol? That's the most common practice among UGL's. I've never seen PEP disclose his method.

Thanks I appreciate your input - how about color? Or that does not really matter because of cook time?
