Strength increase=muscle increase?

I know gaining strength Dosent always equal muscle gain but if I was consistently gaining strength during my cut in most sets and never lost strength is it safe say I didn't lose any muscle? Is strength a decent indicater of muscle gain?

I don't have extra money for dexa scans or water testing so I'm looking for the next best thing to track progress.
 
Its possible to gain significant strength just through increase neural efficiency. One crude way to estimate changes in bodyfat % is to see how many chin-ups you can do.
 
What he said.Strength oriented training during a cut is best to maintain lbm..in my opinion.
