Stupid dead lift question

Nice info here as I am also looking to improve my deadlift as well. My grip of choice is double overhand and alternating grip on heavier sets. I might try switching the over and under hands each set so as not to develop any imbalance.

What about using a trap bar for deads? Don't know if you can load more than 500 but it definitely make grip style and symmetry concerns a moot point.

What is it then, a concentric quarter squat? I can understand if the training is for PL comps or anything less than 500 that it's not a deadlift. LOL. Too many beasts up in here...

It doesn't recuperate the same muscles as a deadlift (although it does use a lot of the same ones) its main component is the quads and hamstrings cause you sit back further, it won't hit the back the same not the hips and that's a major pet of deadlifting

My form maybe wrong, but I like to start with as much of my cog on my heels and as behind the bar as I can get. Which biases the lift to the hamstrings.

I actually had an idea of reverse oly shoes for deadlifting. It would have the ball of the feet raised and the heels flat. Kinda dumb but might work.

I favor my left over right under if I'm going really heavy or setting pr. But i do try and alternate though i feel everyone will have their own preference.

My OCD has had me using an overhand grip on my dead lifts. It's a crazy symmetrical thing that my brain is comfortable with. As I am going heavier I feel I must force myself to use an alternating grip. The question is, when using an alternating grip do you switch which hand is over and which is under or do you use one over every time with the other under every time? I know it's stupid but I worry about unsymmetrical development.

Thanks

I've always used an overhand grip & it has never failed me, currently lifting in excess of 300kg so it must work for some
