suggestions for first cycle

Hey I'm 16, 5'9 1/2" and I weigh 143 with less than 4% body fat. I'm looking to gain at least 30 pounds of lean muscle for football season next year and I've been lifting heavy for 3 months. So far I've only gained about 5 pounds of muscle, and at this rate I won't be where I need to be by the season. I thought about steroids when I started, but decided to try it without them and see what I gained. I've taken creatine, and have always been on protein supplements and L-glutamine. Anyone have any reccomendations for massive muscle gain, or a good starting cycle?

Thanks

i wasnt even going to say anything about your age...but i have to. at the age you're at, you have almost as much test as people 2x your age that use steroids. if you start shooting, you wont have double the test. your natural production will stop and you'll only be using a bit more by shooting. so why shoot? then there's recovery so your balls will blossom again, anti-e's so you dont get titties, acne, etc etc.

as far as gaining more weight, whats the diet look like? you shoul dbe getting 300 grams of protein every day. you should be consuming about 3500 cals of food everyday. AND I MEAN EVERY DAMN DAY!!

believe me, i wish i had your test levels. head over to the "diet and nutrition" section of this site and start from there. ask about bulking up diets. alot of people here will be willing to help you out with that...alot of very knowledgable people. then head over to the traing section for more good advice. maybe your problem is that you're just not eating enough of the right foods and maybe your training routine could use some help.

have a nice day

Thanks Joe. My diet pretty much consists of anything I can get my hands on. I eat a ton, more than most people I know, and never gain a pound. I workout 4-5 days a week at the local gym, doing heavy sets with low reps, usually 3x5. I get as much protein as I can, but I don't think I'm at 300, maybe about 200. I've seen that I only gained 5 pounds in 3 months and I know that its possible to do a lot betetr, and Im lookin for anyone to do that.

Again thanks for the advice I'll check those sections out.

well at 16 you're probably still growing. if you really are at 4%, you have a very high metabolism if you arent doing any cardio. steroids wont really help you there. you need to be patient, let your body grow fully, then you'll be able to add on mass.

besides, adding 30 lbs in a short period of time will definately bring about some questions from your folks, coaches, friends, teachers. you dont want that kind of attention right now.

stick with the training and the nutrition section. and have patience.

have a nice day

Thanks for all the advice, roids are just real tempting after seeing lots of my friends add like 60 pounds to their max bench in a few weeks, and the amount of weight they were able to put on in that time. It sucks eating what they do, lifting as often as they do, and not getting those results. And Yea I hardly do any cardio, I'm hoping my metabolism slows down real soon. Again thanks

Busta, I feel ya man! I am 21 right now, but when I was 16, I was a friggin bean stalk. I was about 6 foot and weighed in around 140-145. My friends as well used drugs to get big, but you know what the situation looks like now? I am 6'2", 205 lbs, and I am in alot better shape than all the buddies who used roids early on. In fact, alot of them didnt know wut they were doing and some of them look like slobs now. Listen to the bros here...wut they said about your natural test levels is absolutely true! Just have patience and eat alot, lift hard, and sleep. I didnt start getting bigger consistently till I was about 18 turing 19. But ever since then, gains have just kept on coming. I put on alot of weight in 3 years without using any drugs. So wait, dude...you will grow if you work hard. Dont let your friends' gains get you down. If gettin big was easy, everyone would do it....but its not and it takes a certain discipline to actually commit yourself to weight training the RIGHT way. Good luck. Peace brotha

me to chief, i am 24 now, but when i was eighteen i was 6ft 150. it looked like my shirt was on a hanger while on me. i lifted my ass off for two years from 16-18 and wondered why i wasnt gaining weight. i ate a ton. at least that is what i thought. count your cals, i guarantee your not eating more than 2500. you will gain weight if you eat 3500 cal it is proven by science that if you eat more cals than you burn you will gain. I read and studied roids for 3 years. at 19 i did my first cycle and i did three eight week cycles and when i went back home for christmas to the town i grew up in i was 6'1 208lbs at 10% bf. nobody knew who i was. i could not play football in high school at a competetive level cause i was too small, but i still got to go to a small D2 school to play reciever. by the time i was 22 i got to go D1 and play WR, at 6'1 202lbs at 8%. so by god wait for a while and eat. then maybe you can try.
sorry to ramble but i know how you feel. i was the skinniest in hs but i am bigger than all my friends now who thought they were bad

I know where you are coming from being 16 playing football and wanting to be competitive. I started juicing when I was about 17 and wish I would have waited to at least I was over 21. The best advice is the advice of the majority of people on this board wait until you get older and sure that you are more mature and have fully grown. If you feel like that you cannot wait I would at least wait until I was a senior in high school or 18 yrs. old I am not trying to condone anything but AAS definately will make you bigger and more aggressive. I would stack some Test with Deca and run it for about 6 weeks. Eat plenty of calories(doubt you will have a problem with that), and plenty, plenty protein. Good Luck!

I agree with joe schmoe - with your natural testosterone levels at this age, you're essentially already on steroids, but minus the side effects, costs, risks, etc. You should put your efforts into optimizing your diet and finding a training routine that works for you.

With your height, weight and body fat %, you've probably still got a bit of growing to go. Your metabolism is racing, so you'll have to out eat it. I would up your protein and calories as much as you stand until you see your body fat % begin to tick upwards. Don't worry, you're hardly about to become fat.

You also could try adding more reps per set, and working out only twice a week if you're not already doing a split routine. Be sure and keep a log of your workouts so you can keep track of your progress. The sooner you find a productive routine for you, the sooner you'll grow.

Guys thanks for all the replies, I wasn't expecting this much information and advice. All this really helps me out a lot, thanks.

Maetenloch, the training routine I've been trying is Max-OT http://www.ast-ss.com/max-ot/max-ot_intro.asp It calls and stresses hiegh weight low rep lifting. They call it positive-failure, where you have wweight that you can lift more than 4 times but less than 6, and supposively that's the best for gaining muscle mass...but I don't know how true that is, because this is the first workout I've followed. Anyone familiar with it and can comment?

Ditto for going to the training and nutrition forums. If you are putting on 5lbs of solid mass every quarter do you realize what kind of tonnage you will put on within the next two years with proper routines, diet, and sleep?!

Many of the guys on this board would sell the old lady to have your natural hGH and Test.

Busta,

I think Max-OT is great program. I followed it for 2 years up until this point and my gains were awesome! I had put on as much as 10-15 pounds of LEAN muscle mass in each 12 week cycle. Look at Jeff Willet...he went for 15th place in the IFBB to 1st place.. and he follows AST principles. So it obviuously works. Like everyone is saying, just eat, eat, eat, sleep, train, and eat some more. You will do very well on Max-OT....just make sure YOU FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS EXACTLY!!!!!!!!!! If you dont and decided to change shit around, you arent gonna make the gains you want. So good luck, and follow the program exactly as it is stated. Peace bro
