Supplement store owners??

My only experience is from running a gym, the supplement store made nothing, we couldn't buy in enough bulk to get low prices, so we started selling single servings, and preworkout scoops.

It's amazing that people won't pay for a tub of protein but if we stick 200ml of milk and a banana, which costs $1 people will pay $10 for it [emoji23]

And yes to whoever said that earlier, my dealer owns a supplement store. I'm guessing he manages to filter money through it. The stores always dead.

I would think the only way a gym would make money is if you already had all the equipment paid for
Its definately competitive, I can only speak for the UK market, and I don't live there anymore, but we located the gym central, and brought in equipment that the city didn't have in a shopping centre. The lease was very high, but we had a unique selling point of location and equipment.

We had very cheap prices, enough that you'd sign a 1 year contract and wouldn't bother to cancel if you stopped going. Plus a joining fee to get quick revenue.

We opened at new years, easy to get members. Offered discounts for army, navy, air force, police, firemen etc.

Honestly, even with all this, the absolute top priority was to provide a great experience. The majority of people don't want to train, so spend 5 mins chatting to them, build a relationship and thats often the difference between cancelling or staying.

We ended up with a peak of 4000 members over winter, dropping to 2500 in summer.

Add in a shop, with tshirts bags and smoothies etc, and it's sustainable.

Your never gonna be a millionaire until people start wanting to franchise the gym. Which one person did, in another city, the gym lasted 18 months....

The supplement store is just a front for what your selling out the back.

Just curious, u ever been to a supplement store that was selling out the back? Not asking u to drop names of the store or anything, just curious if this is something u actually experienced. I've heard of gyms being busted for stuff like this...

I reckon they'd have to be thick as shit to risk thier business by selling onsite.
