Tear doing weighted pullups.

6 weeks ago during weighted pullups i felt a tear under my posterior delt. Cant pinpoint the muscle or tendon involved. Its right under my armpit. I did ultrasound and MRI and they cant see any tear. It hasnt got much better.

I suspect a partial tendon tear at triceps long head or teres major tendon. It sucks and i can only train legs. What bothers me is that the doctors cant find what is wrong.
Anyone experienced this?

Could be bicep. Why didn't the MRI show anything? Did they use contrast? And it may not be a tear if the imaging doesn't show one.

I'd get another MRI, if it was a tear it would show up, and if it's not better after 6 weeks of not training its probably a tear; maybe a different hospital/clinic? they might have just missed it...

I felt the thear in the rear delt, armpit area. I can do biceps curls without pain in biceps.
They didnt use contrast. Would contrast make a difference in muscle/tendon diagnostic?

I am going to a 3rd doctor that only deals with shoulder issues, was also thinking of another MRI. This injury is dragging me into depression.

I hear you brother, two tendon injuries in my wrists and one ligament injury in my knee have had been on and off feeling like dog shit because I can't train or can't train as I'd want. I lost what appears to be ~5-10lbs of lean tissue in each of my quads as I stopped training them for some time due to the knee issue. Alls I can say is you can always get back when you figure out whats up, especially if you aren't still too much of a pussy to run real gear like me lmao. I hope this next doctor doesn't end up telling you the same thing

The good news is if it doesn't show up on a mri it's not serious. Lay off a few weeks. Soft tissue takes time to heal.

Damn too bad, but yeah just gotta remember it's not worst thing that could happen.

I never enjoyed doing weighted pullups, for some reason felt so awkward and unnatural. I love doing bodyweight pullups though. So much safer and feels so much better.

After 2.5 months from the injury i am sure its the triceps long head tendon. Because i had 5 weeks gap from injury to MRI the tendon healed and cant see anything on MRI. That is what the shoulder specialist told me. But it didnt heal well aparrently. It healed with scar tissue and he recomended 6 weeks of stretching and massage.
After this i hope i can start to slowly put some load on it.
