Has anyone taken Telmisartan 160mg? Two 80mg pills at once? I have been on 80 mg daily and it doesn't seem to do much. I have noticed it can be very effective even at 160 mg in studies. I'm due for a power red donation and I can usually get my blood pressure pretty close to normal everyday on the 80 mg but I tend to get white Coat Syndrome before donating blood in a couple of times they have turned me away because my lower number shot up to 100 which is very rare it never shoots up that high at home just when I go into the doctor's office LOL I was thinking about trying 160 mg but not staying on it permanently just to see if it gets my blood pressure even a little bit lower. I know I need to lose 20 lb. I usually have pretty decent blood pressure but I'm coming off a blast and I'm trying to get it back to perfect. Today on 80mg my blood pressure is like 130 / 85. But I know once I go to donate blood I will get white coat syndrome and it might be 140/101. I hope that doesn't happen but it happened once out of like 10 donations.

I'm curious if you tried this dosage.

White coat hypertension is no joke, and can cause crazy changes in blood pressure/heart rate etc. It's normal.

See your physician and get your BP managed appropriately as you likely have essential HTN that is exacerbated by AAS. And values of that nature place you at considerable risk for complications.

That seems like way to fuckin much lol to me

40mg plus 5mg of amlodipine works wonders. The added calcium channel blocker really kicked down the systolic, where the telmisartan alone really just brought down the dystolic for me.

At worst stsrt 40mg telmisartan plus 5 mg amlodipine. For 2 weeks then go up to 80mg telmisartan, i think you'll get results

There's a reason there's alot of different blood pressure meds, some people need certain kinds to work more efficiently for them, the above is what works for me

I get more good readings all day then bad. Seems to be heart rate related. At home relaxed in a chair 125/85 on 40mg telimisartan. Only goes high in the dr office or driving when heart rates over 100. Always get normal numbers when heart rate is 75. Guess this bp smart watch makes me check it too often. Haha. Like who checks bp driving lol.

I do remember telmisartan did max out at 80 mg but happy to be wrong
It can be prescribed up to 160 mg but I tried it for two days it didn't have any difference so I just continue to take the 80 mg. I'm just hoping this new medication seems to work I mean I've been taking losartan for about 5 years and it seems to be about the same or maybe a little less effective as losartan on me anyway
