Tendinosis

Hi guys

This is my first post here and I wanted to ask any experienced with injuries and rehab.

For the last 3 months I have been running every morning on an empty stomach for 1 hour. I hold a pair of 2kg db and about 2 weeks ago my left elbow has been killing me. I have had to stop all lifting and whenever I try to lift my left arm the top part of the forearm hurts.

Has anyone had a similar experience and how to treat this????

Thanks for all the help!

Hi Saw. Firstly welcome to the forum. Hopefully you mean tendonitis, and it sounds like you have the symptoms. As many on this site can attest it is a real pain. I have been rehabing mine for 6 months now. There is not much you can do other than icing the sore area, let it rest, and use some compression. Try not to do anythning that causes the pain as it will only get worse. Some guys on this site have been to the extreme and had to have surgery. I have used ice and compression with success although the key has been to not lift either. Hope that helps.

You actually go out in public doing this[:o)]
I'm starting to get a bit of the same problem with elbows and wrists.
I've found in the past that HMB was a good product for these aches and pains,so I'm just about to order a 1/2 kilo
Here's a cheapest place I found to get it.
And I've had good service with this company
SupremeMuscle.com: Bulk Supplies Muscle Enhancer

Good luck
Chuwk dee.
Bi gon.

good advice..i too have been through 2 bad cases of tendonitis.Stop running with the weights.stop doing any triceps work out in gym..maybe bi workouts too if that hurts it.Stop doing anything and everything that hurts the elbows/forearms.takes anywhere from a few weeks to several months to heal if it is not torn.If it hurts bad go see your doc..

RICE. Rest, ice, compression, evaluation. Maybe try some anti inflammitories.
Also usually therapist will prescribe light bicep flexation work if there is elbow overuse injury, similar to doing leg curls to rehad the knee, it gets local blood flow without stressing the joint too bad. Someone said dont do any lower arm abduction thats right. Stop doing anything and everything that slightly irritates it, bc all you are doing is prolonging your recovery.
