Is anyone aware of a link between tesamorelin and lp(a) levels?
I ask because I've been running 2mg tesamorelin daily for almost 8 weeks. I just got bloods done yesterday (still waiting on hgh and igf...) and my lp(a) levels are scarily high - 190nmol/L.
Unfortunately I have no baseline for lp(a) because my pcp has never ordered this test before I have no way of knowing what it was prior.
My lipid profile is otherwise unremarkable, though my Ldl is higher than I would like at 101. It's historically been somewhat elevated my whole life. See screenshot. I've already ordered pitavastatin, ezemtimibe, and bempedoic acid to try to improve those numbers.
My limited research has shown no real connection between Tesamorelin and lp(a), but the studies seem confined to Hiv patients who already have a higher incidence of cardiovascular disease. I did find studies that seem to indicate that there may be correlation between HGH levels and lp(a), so extrapolating that I can potentially conclude that Tesamorelin has increased my hgh and thus may increase my lp(a). Of course, I doubt it's that simple. I also don't know to what extent tesa has raised my hgh due to stupidly failing to get a pre tesa hgh test.
I'm also running 2mg reta weekly (8 wks) as well as what im pretty sure is a useless KLOW stack (all separate, last 2 wks).
Since starting reta/tesa Im down about 10 pounds (210 lbs -> 200) and probably hovering around 15% bf, maybe less.
Any thoughts?
