Test E - No BB?

I see homebrewing recipes for Test E that do not include the use of BB in the process. What are the results without the use of BB? Does anyone have good experiences? What is your favorite recipe for Test E?

It's not needed but I'd say the majority including myself use a small percentage of it to help thin the oil and make it smoother.
