Amp openers always shatter my amps. I use oven mitts. Haha. Haven't cut myself yet.

Alright, help a dummy out.
So you just snap the amp top off, draw the oil out, switch needles (I'm assuming) and pin?
No issue of small pieces of glass falling into the amp and then being drawn into the syringe?
No issue of increased risk of infection due to the oil being exposed to the atmosphere even if it is for small amount of time?
I do hear a lot of people complaining about the amps breaking. How often does that actually happen?
Do you order extra amps in anticipation of at least a few of them breaking?

I say if vials have worked for you, stick to them. 1st question : yes 2nd: small chance, but particles you will see flying 3rd: that one is bugging me too 4: first two ampules I broke, did it wrong 5: I would definitely stock up.
I practice with sodium chloride ampules from HCG boxes I have, not a pleasant experience for me.

Now this is just me talkin and probably I bought poor needle filters..but i never had great success with them.
I have EXCELLENT results with Whatman(sp.) filters(the .22 or .45 micron ones) often called wheel filters.
No slam to ANY of my providers but every vial I buy gets thus filtered into a sterile,new vial once I pop the top.Kinda expensive,comparatively speaking but never had infection or abcess. Maybe Im somewhat deluded but thats my truth.
Ive found that if I take my time by pre-wetting the filter with a touch of ,oh say grapeseed oil and never push too hard or fast,I can do 20ml.
I never reuse them once finished as I dont think it can stay sterile. Oh yes after pushing a vial,I use another tad of oil to get that"Good to the last drop" Most vials hold a wee bit more than 10ml and can take the extra.The MINOR dilution incurred by the added oil is inconsequential to me for sparkling clear product. Youd freak at some of the cheese ive filtered out!! NEVER sorry I do this! Whatman filters are not hard to find and not terribly expensive.I and many other Meso-ites(I coined that phrase I think)
