Honestly if it was anyone but a cop I would be saying the same shit. But cops should be held to a higher standard than citizens, it is literally their job to uphold the law. He will probably get off and go back to work from his suspension, if it where me I would get the 15 stretch.
There is a group of cops at my gym that are juiced the fuck up. For some reason it bothers me, not because they use gear but because I almost undoubtedly know that any one of them would snatch me up and arrest me in a heart beat for the same shit they do.

Exactly. Cops on steroids are compromised - they become susceptible to blackmail, corruption and participation in drug trafficking. No one likes a dirty cop.
Nah man, courts throw the book at public officials who do this kind of stuff. They prove a point when someone who knows the law fucks up

I suppose you could be right, unless his cop buddies tamper with or destory evidence, harrass witnesses etc. We will just have to see how it plays out. I still believe his odds are better than mine would be
A lot of ppl dislike police but I know some really good cops who do a lot for the community. If u ever heard the stories some of these guys deal with it'll change some ppl perspective.
Take for example trying to negotiate with a jumper on a parking garage roof, having to tackle him and yelling "ur not in trouble, life is gonna get better man, I'm here for you" these stories we don't hear abt .
Definitely, he is innocent until proven otherwise. Being in a union comes with major benefits.
Or hearing the stories from a black police officer... when they have to deal with some of their own there automatically looked at as a sellout or an uncle Tom, when in reality it's a guy just trying to do a job and provide for his family. Or having to tell a family member their child is dead. It's not always some cakewalk where they can do whatever they want. Not all police are bad, they act assertive and talk with the upper hand to try to neutralize a bad situation. Most are just trying to do the right thing and if ppl follow the law they don't get fucked with.
I'm one of the few who is actually sick of the cop bashing that goes on lately. Especially when u see these videos of these know it all kids who are in their first semester of law school and are looking to fuck with cops on camera. Most of these videos are some punk know-it-all trying to instigate shit and all they had to do was hand over an ID and they'd be on their way with little hassle. That same cop asking someone for ID may be looking for a kidnapper in order to save someone's kid.
It's easy to judge when we have never been in situations like this. You ever seen that video of the kid talking shit and saying stepping up on a cop saying ,"I'm a fucking soldier bro, fuck you and fuck this, and the cop takes him down and says "and I'm a god damn former marine and you're down rt now, now do u want to start over in a civil manner?" Poetic justice if u ask me

Im not a cop hater persay. I understand and respect the need for them and the role they play in society. But I also believe they are paid public servants that should be held to a higher standard because of the power and authority that comes with the job. They should probably be trained and paid better too but thats another topic. And if they do not want to be held to a higher standard then they shouldn't be a fucking cop.
I also do not subscribe to the bad apple theory because a cop who goes by the book but stands and turns his head while other cops do shady shit is also a bad cop imo. Lets be honest man, there are alot of good honest hardworking cops out there, nobody is debating that I don't think. But law enforcment in general has slowly become more corrupted over the past 20-30 years to a point where it is just about out of control. This guy may or may not get a slap on the wrist, but if it where a normal citizen it wouldn't even be up for debate.

I’ll just add anyone who violates their Oath to uphold and defend the Constitution is a fucking scumbag. Police swear an Oath and Violate that very Oath on every interaction with citizens. Think about how police conduct business today, they are trained and equipped as a soldier. They aren’t used to serve and protect like the days of old, they are used as a weapon by Tyrants. They generate revenue and harassment.
