Sorry that was the point, depending on where you stay and how/who haggles for you depends on the prices you pay, I stay in a 4* Hotel, book price equivalent to $80 per day, with "help" I only pay $25 per night, same with roids, go to a pharmacy and pay $250, get a good haggler and get the same stuff for $50. If you want to do it cheaply, stay away from Bangkok as everything is at tourist rates, go somewhere just as nice, and only pay a fraction of the cost. As a guide expect to haggle and get "chemicals" at 10% of your domestic prices, If you get a choice get to Hatjai, everything you could ever want is there, although it will seem alien to you, in Thailand you have got to haggle, you can stay in a local house for about $3 per day even though the sign says the equivalent of $15. If you get yourself a "day girl" she will do all the buying and haggling for you, as the more she saves you the larger the tip you will give her, and a large tip only needs to be $5. Hope that helps I cant be more specific as nothing in Thailand has a fixed price, but everything is extremely cheap, if you took a room in a house by the month you could probably get it for $2 per day, I'm from the uk and that would seem silly money, dont know what you pay where you are.

Pattaya is nice, but once again a tourist spot, and although everything will be alot cheaper than where you are now, it will still be three times the prices of not so touristy locations. The girls hang around the hotels, or if you already have a hotel, one of the clerks will phone one for you. Day girls get paid for the day, you buy them meals and they do everything else for you, even if you dont buy anything, what they save you on the food bill alone is larger than what they cost you, last time I was in Hatjai, a few months ago, a big mac from Mcdonalds there was only 29p about 50cents to you, and yes "everything" is included in the day price, so choose the girl you fancy, you will be out of luck if you like them well rounded, they are all shaped like Kylie, lol...................oh yes if you want to be adventurous, get your day girl to collect 2 or 3 of her mates for a couple of hours, I'll leave the rest to your imagination, but you can get a life changing experience for less than $30. If you take a wife/girlfriend with you, your day girl will be just like a guide, nothing more, they are very discrete..............be very wary in the tourist areas, your wallet needs to be down the front of your jocks, or it will get taken, but you are safe elsewhere.

is Hatjai a long away from Pattaya? Maybe buy the gear there and then bring it to Pattaya and stay there for 3-4 months? also, should i rent an apartment or just stay in various hotels throughout? i plan to stay at the same location for quite a while where i can focus on my cycle/training/diet and maybe just taking a couple of trips around thailand to see a couple of sights, maybe scuba dive in koh phi phi. and also, would 3000 bucks be enough for a 3-4 month stay? gear/food/hotels etc. i know this is a dumb question, since i could probably get by on alot less, and i could probably spend alot more also, but would I get by easy with this kind of cash?

I reckon I could live in Thailand for a year with $3000 and go short of nothing. Hatjai is in the south of Thailand not too far from the Malaysian border, I have only travelled once from bangkok to Hatjai, and I did it by taxi with 4 other people and it cost me 70 ($130)for all of us there and back including one night in Hatjai in a decent hotel (2 rooms).

Depending on how many of you are going, its nice to stay in a local house if you are by yourself, or get a small condo if you are staying with a few others, if you stay in a house, the owners will help you out with anything you need to know, and feed you cheaply if you want that included. Since I've been several times I dont bother with the tourist areas anymore, I go with empty cases, and come back with loads of very cheap, quality clothes, plus lots of cheap electrical and other goods which I can't buy in the uk. There are no laws governing aas in Thailand, but they still have the death penalty for carrying any recreational substances, so make sure you know what you are buying.

Haggle chicks!!! HAHHHHahahahah! lmao
That's what we need here.

I just gotta start a new thread with this suject.

Thailands a whole different world over there. You wont fully understand till you get there. Beware of the lady boys, if you seek asain talent. Remeber womens elbows touch there hips when bent at a 90 degree angle, boys dont. AS for prices, haggle with everything you purchase, as a joke haggle up, its funny to see there reaction. Prices vary where you stay, koh phi phi is very expensive, compared to a place like koh phagan, or koh saumi. I would also suggest getting a book on tape that teachs you basic thai language.
