I work midnights, train from 0900-1100 eat and then sleep. Is it going to kill me to eat the large meal post work out then sleep? Post work out meal is usually: At gym - Large shake & creatine - about 40 minutes later at home - 5 egg whites - 1 whole egg, 6 oz chicken (omlet), 1 cup salsa on omlet, 1 cup grits (or oatmeal) and 1/2 begal, tall skim milk. Then I sleep 6-8 hours, usually waking once for another shake.

I've been working 3rd shift for 13 years now.My body as become so adapted to it I would never work days again. My hours are 6 days a week,10pm to 7am.Within that time frame I consume around 2,500 calories through Muscle Milk,2 chicken breasts, tuna, rice and sweet potatoes. My breath isnt the best when I clock out but,oh well.I'm home by 7:30am,train till 8:30-9am,shower,eat more, stay up till 1pm,sleep till 8pm.I also wake up twice to consume 2 more shakes. The system works great for me.I believe I come close to 4,200 calories a day.Not too bad.

i worked 3rds for about 3 years, then went to seconds for 2 years, been back on 3rds for 9 months. Lately, I have been feeling like fat bastard, and my sleep is fucked! I get home from the gym about 1100 and try and sleep, but just toss. Back up around 5, back to sleep around 900, then up at 1100. Somedays (off days at gym) ill find myself going home after work at 0800 and sleep till 1030-1100pm.

I hear ya bro.Thats how I was for the first 2 years on 3rd.My sleep was so messed up.Kept waking, couldnt fall asleep, sleep for 3 hours, stay awake for 1,etc.If your stuck on this 3rd shift position and can't deal with it,I have some meditation practices that work.E-mail me anytime at Torturefreak@cyber-rights.net.I'll give you some breathing practices that actually work to meditate you and have a sound sleep.
