The prepping thread SHTF

don’t overspend on storable food packs. You can do it yourself for a fraction the cost. You’ll need:

1) Food item (rice, oatmeal, beans, pasta, ect)
2) large Mylar bags
3) oxygen absorbers
4) your wife’s/GF’s hair straightener

Place the food in the bag. Toss in an oxygen absorber. Squish out all the excess air. Then use the hair straightener to seal the Mylar bag. In a few days it will have a vacuum seal look. Food is good for 25-30 years. Once you open the bag it will have the original shelf life. I store the bags in plastic totes so they don’t get punctured.

For water filtration get “mini sawyer”. It’s better than life straw and filters 100,000 gallons.

Make sure you have plenty of first aid, ways to start fire, zero degree sleeping bags, zip ties, knives, items to cook with, hygienic items, ect.

It won’t hit the fan everywhere. Even in a catastrophic civil war type situation, what does that last on average? A month? A year at most? If you have a few years raws and filters and pins and whatnot you should be fine.

My personal opinion is yes because I know how I’ve felt when I was off TRT.
Was how you felt while off trt similar to any time during your pct? I guess I'll ask it this way, if i didn't consider my pct all that miserable, can I expect the same if I needed to be on trt, but wasn't?

I’ve actually never ran a PCT. I started AAS later in life so I have only blasted and cruised. That being said, I took myself off of TRT for about 3 months. Put on some body fat and felt lethargic all the time. Was still hitting the gym but wasn’t able to build much muscle and my strength was low. Went back on and immediately felt a difference.

Great summary! Mylar bags in a bucket last a long time. Personally I like to buy oats, beans, etc in bulk and while a 5 gallon bucket is nice long term, I keep them in old protein tubs. The 2.5lb and even 5lb tubs are great. I refill them from the 5 gallon buckets.

Making a list of supplies and prioritizing it is the first step IMHO. Lots of people get excited and buy something cool and miss the basics. Location is a basic, big out/flood/fire location is good too.

Good call on the water filter, I have an Aquarain one myself. Basically a knock off Berkey counter top unit. People forget about water. I even have some water pouches stashed in the car if I get stuck.

I got security pretty well stocked. Working in food, camping supply's.
Get yourself water filters. Like the pump kind that can filter a million gallons of water before going bad. Get a couple of them.

Space blankets if you live in a cold area.

Food: canned foods are solid.. might as well get MREs and similar shit. I have a lot of protein powder stocked up. Really though learn how to hunt and trap. Bow or suppressed .22 is best. You will be eating varmint most likely. No venison dinners unless you can bow hunt bow hunt the deer and process it and store it yourself... Get a few survivalist books to begin to recognize edible plants and such. The survival

You can stock up as much as you want at home. You never know what will happen though. You may end up leaving your home or being forced out.

Solar panels and electric appliances to be able to cook. Learning to make a smokeless fire pit is a good idea too. Best case scenario is to live in the country on well and septic with solar and all electric heating.

Practice tying knots. Learn your knots like a fucking eagle scout. Most useful shit ever.

If you plan to stay at home. You better have a solid defense system setup. What happens if a gang of 15 rush your house? Be ready to board up windows on both sides with some thick plywood. Won't stop bullets but the key is to ensure you house looks abandoned.

There's more, but I gotta go. There's lots of resources out there on how to get started. That's just my brain dump of key things for ya

I always figured that the marauders would just molotov the house if they can't get what's in it.
You think they would waste good liquor on molotoving a random house? Most people are just gonna drink that shit. Also that's why you live far enough in the country that the likelihood of anyone getting to your place is fairly low anyway. Especially if you make it through the first two weeks or so after running water stops when most people will die.

Edit: one if the big keys to being safe during SHTF scenarios is not being around other people.. that means living way out in the sticks. Preferably surrounded by tall ass trees with a nice killing field between the perimeter of your house and the tree line. If shit actually does get that crazy then fucking dig a god damn trench around your house if you have to. Or at least a fuck ton of pot holes everywhere. Anything to slow people down. Buy or make some some trip wire alarms that fire .22 blanks.
