So occasionally I find new shit, and it's exciting because I've been doing this forever and I rarely find new shit.

Ok, inverted rows with a dip bar grip! So in some gyms, there is an adjustable dip station that you can get lower to the ground. Typically I've always done inverted bodyweight rows with a regular bar, either close grip or wide, usually alternating grip on each set. Ok, so the beauty of the dip bar is that you can either do them facing away or facing towards it, so if you are facing towards it your palms are slightly inward resembling more close to an underhand grip sort of. Facing the other way I feel it more across the rhomboids/scapula region. It's good stuff, it'll light your back up!!

Don't do this if you're older and enjoy having functioning shoulders.

I personally don't ever do inverted rows, but I guess I just don't see how they would mess up your shoulders. Do you have a link to something that explains why it's bad? I'd be interested in reading it.

Would you be willing to make a recording and post it?

Its really easy to do these with bad form. I've seen a lot.of guys rounding their shoulders to complete the move.

I am I saying no one should do this?

Just Google inverted rows and shoulder pain.

I'm not saying they shouldn't be done. I stand by my opinion that older guys should be careful with these.

You might change your mind when you get older and your shoulders are stiff and crackly.
Ok, I got you I think...you're talking about the issue of pulling the shoulders out on the negative at the very bottom when arms are completely outstretched? I could see this with possibly overextending the arms outwards, I was just trying to think of how you meant a shoulder injury and I'm figuring you mean impinging that AC joint on the negative?

That, and a lot of guys roll their shoulders forward at the top trying to get that extra little bit. I feel these are more of a younger man's exercise.

I appreciate your input and I can now understand what you mean and I'm with you. I'm making a mental note of this right now, in the future I'm not going to position my body anywhere beyond what it would naturally do. I'll still do them but this is a good reminder not to go beyond a natural plane of motion. Thanks again
