Does kinda look cool but it pretty much only will go as far, nothing against calisthenics but I think it has been proven that if the goal is becoming an elite weightlifting athlete you become an olympic weightlifter, raw power a powerlifter and looking aesthetic a bodybuilder.
some of this goes without saying. and if I want master my bodyweight, I should practice extreme calisthenics.
im not looking to be an elite weightlifter or a powerlifter. and aesthetic bodybuilding for me means more muscle, less fat, and focusing on proportion and symmetry. instead of just a blind pursuit of more mass. and I think bodyweight exercises fit in with that nicely. you cant have too much muscle or too much fat. and some of the physiques are rather impressive, i think.
as far it looking cool and it will only go so far: these are real feats of strength. not just for show. challenge a weightlifter, powerlifter, or bodybuilder to some. pistol squats, one arm pushups, one arm pullups, handstand pushups. these seem too be the basics.
and it fits in with what im trying to do lifestyle wise. I need to manage my time more wisely. im trying to do more... with less. this I can take anywhere. I don't need a gym or equipment. I work long hours, and always have. as of now on working days, which are rarely the same, I have about 8 hours free time, including shower, sleep, get up, get out, blah, blah, blah. I used to do pistols at work. people used to look at me weird. but DILLIGIF

. and chins and dips, which are bodybuilding exercises.
without a longer post, this not and end all be all, just something I think is very worth pursuing.
