Three Charged with Medicaid Fraud in Human Growth Hormone Trafficking

[SIZE=-1]The Chief State's Attorney's Office says three Bridgeport men were each receiving $7,000 a month worth of Medicaid-funded prescriptions for human growth hormone. Prosecutors charge the three then turned around and sold the drug for a few hundred dollars in New York. Human growth hormone, sold under the brand name "Serostim" is sought by body-builders and is said to be one of the most popular illegal drugs sold on the internet. [/SIZE]

[SIZE=-1]Prosecutors say 52-year-old Juan Gonzalez of Pembroke Street in Bridgeport, and 47-year-old Rafael Guadarrama and 43-year old Rafael Lopez, both of East Main Street in Bridgeport, all are charged with larceny, conspiracy and insurance fraud. The warrants are sealed, and all three are due in court later this week. [/SIZE]
